Well the ship moves now, created two subdesigns and refit the shipyard because the ships would not move with both geo and grav survey equipment. Now I'm mining luna for its considerable Duranium and Corundium deposits (nearly 2.5mil each)

More important that the deposits (above a certain threshold) is their accessability. It could be 50mil tons of everything on Venus, if it all is .1 I'd still ignore it.
...why? Throw some autominers down and let them run. They cost nothing other than the initial build cost.

I never leave such huge stockpiles of resources sitting around, especially if one or more of the resources is in short supply elsewhere. That trickle could be the difference between normal operations and shutting down vital production because your stocks ran out.

I thought of a game, perhaps similar to Animal Crossing, where you play as a person with some kind of illness, and the doctor declares you have 100 days to live, but offers you a chance to be placed into cryostasis, and then unthawed for one day every year, so you can see the future elapse very quickly, with one day representing every year, and get to see how everything you know evolves over time, then on the dawn of the new century, you finally succumb to the illness and die, with the three or four generations of people you got to meet throughout the course of the game getting to see you off, or perhaps other people that have taken the same cryo-deal as well having to say goodbye.

I think the theme of the game would be about the inevitability of death, but perhaps more importantly about how no matter how no matter how much things superficially change, even over such a long period of time, things stay the same. "The more things change, the more they stay the same" as it were.
I find it a little hard to believe that absolutely no progress would be made towards a cure, even a partial one, in a hundred years. Especially if medical science is advanced enough for cryogenic freezing to be effective for humans.

MY VERY FIRST HARDMODE BOSS DEFEATED

*ahem*

My elevated bunker plan worked wonderfully; I only needed to use a single Greater Healing potion during the entire fight. The probes were the only thing that could really hurt me, and they often got caught in the non-stop rain of Hellfire arrows I was bringing forth, dropping Hearts to keep me topped off. Roughly 300 shots fired, which adds up to...I dunno, 900-1200 total arrows with the Stormbow? Anyway.

I probably over-buffed. Ironskin, Regen, Food, Magic Power, Rage, and Archery all together. I basically just grabbed every combat potion I could find in my horrifically disorganized stockpile before high-tailing it to the bunker. I almost feel bad for cheesing a boss this way.

Running around in hard mode makes me realize just how weirdly-generated this world is.

I have found two sky islands. Both are lakes.
No giant living trees.
No pyramids.
The dungeon seems oddly extensive.
The jungle takes up a good fifth/quarter of the surface, and extends all the way to one of the oceans.
Despite extensive digging and exploring I have found neither hide nor hair of the lizhard temple.
The vast majority of the (explored) underground is tundra, despite the surface tundra being relatively small.
Thus far, no underground crimson has been found. I'm sure it must exist, but none of my explorations and excavations have found it. Thus, no souls of night.

Also, maybe consider some sort of trade school or vocational training. I was on the verge of flunking out of college when I decided to change gears and learn how to drive big rigs instead. Something like 5 years later, I'm still employed and making a half-decent living.

Last night showed some success! A couple of lucky Mimics have resulted in a Philosopher's Stone, which has been crafted into the Charm of Myths. So that'll help. I also took the advice of making my own Hallowed Mimics, which were indeed a hell of a lot tougher than the norm - no one told me that Hallowed Mimics could jump straight through the walls of the small arena I built for the purpose of killing them safely! - but it was worth it for the Deadly Daedalus Stormbow that dropped.

Unfortunately, my old anti-Destroyer bunker is now a liability thanks to how the Stormbow works. However, I'm come up with a new solution, involving a long line of platforms in the air - above what the Destroyer can reach, so right about the level of my sky lake bunker - and a box of solid blocks for me to hide in. If the box is just barely big enough to contain me and a fireplace, most of the Stormbow's projectiles should miss it completely as they rain down on the Destroyer the next time the bastard spawns. I'll just have to worry about those damn probes phasing through and hitting me in passing, but at least the lasers will be nullified.

If I can find a Cross Necklace and fish up enough Titanium for a full set of armor, even that contact damage might well be survivable. For now though, I have to start crafting as many stacks of Holy and Hellfire arrows as I can manage. I also need to build more housing so that brat of an Angler can respawn...
