General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.

What Truean said. Unless you're allergic or lactose-intolerant (both cases are a tragedy), how can you not like the Food of the Gods that is cheese?

Off topic: How is Truean pronounced? True-an or Tru-ean? Or something else entirely?

As long as you don't forget your other thread >:p

I'll see your cool mimic octopus and raise you one vampire squid from hell.
It's creepy, sure, but not really scary and I'm not seeing where the "vampire" part comes from...
Apparently the vampire thing is because the flaps around the tentacles "resemble the folds of Dracula's cape." Yeah, odd. The squid's menacing spikes may have had something to do with it too, but it's mainly the cape thing.
I can see where they'd get that idea, but I was hoping for a squid that attaches itself to other creatures to suck out their blood. Now THAT would be terrifying :P

: "What has this Eor guy been doing, exactly? I mean, why are we here? Why are we so concerned about the militia? If we're under official orders to apprehend a dangerous criminal or something, they should be helping us out."

AAAAARGH!!

Brain! Why you no getting simple C expressions right?! Why you failing simple scanf functions?!
Because to program you have to learn the language of the Eldritch Abominations. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn, indeed.
Actually, looking at my code I think a function is not calling correctly. Dunno why, since it looks textbook-perfect, but I'm just gonna save my work and bring it into class tomorrow, lest I suffer a stroke trying to force the code correctly through sheer hate.
Have you tried facepunching the code? I never figured it out, but I always figured that people who knew what the hell they were doing had.
C doesn't really have a face. It has header files, but those are already doing their jobs correctly so far as I can tell :P

Anyone who doesn't like King of the Hill is a filthy communist and should be fed to the landsharks.
But I'm a fascist?

But not really. Just a bit more authoritarian than most other American liberals.
SAME THING!
The joke doesn't work as well with your transparent text, so I'll just ignore it :p

Other Games / Re: Looking for an MMO, and also maybe a giveaway xD
« on: March 18, 2013, 09:10:26 pm »
Have you tried Vindictus? It's an action hack-n-slash MMO that fulfills quite a few of the things you're looking for:

-It's third-person, though not top-down Diablo style.
-It's mostly free; the only things you really pay for (as far as I am, anyway) are cosmetic changes and pets.
-There is some hand-holding involved in quests, sadly. What degree of help are you trying to avoid?
-Early quests are pretty easy, especially if you're good at hack-n-slash games. However, they start getting pretty difficult quickly and there are optional objectives to provide more self-imposed challenges.
-Some lore. It's mostly background information.

Nah. What we need for the crazy motherlode is for one Theodore Beale. Also known as Vox Day.

Eh. Spock's fine, but I don't think I'd particularly want to be him. Not sure if I'd like to be any other species, for that matter. I like my own little human quirks.

Kael is just consumed by grad school, AFAIK.
I thought he was traveling the world punching pimps and getting thrown out of countries for being too badass.
Everyone has to settle down sometime.

I wanna see the GOP double down on crazy. Nugent/Phelps 2016!!
I've heard a persistent rumor that Phelps is actually registered as a Democrat. If true, the above will never happen.

Paninis for dinner. Black forest ham, smoked provolone, and chipotle infused cheddar. SO GOOD. ;_;
My mouth, it drools.

I'm kinda worried that you had to specify...
T'is a meme of sorts. I believe it was originally "My eyes! They burn!" in response to a shocking or disgusting image.

I've been variously diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, depression, and anger problems at different points in my life.
Curiously, my parents once thought I might have Asperger's syndrome, though my psychiatrist shot down that idea. So I can't use that as an excuse to be a jerk anymore :P
