Well...fuck.

Car randomly died driving home from school. Looks like the battery died or something. Call insurance, ask them to come give me a jump or possibly a tow.

Normal truck shows up after awhile. Spends a half hour messing around before figuring out that the battery is fine; its the alternator and possibly something else as well.

Now he's gone and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully the tow truck will show up in an hour or so, which is the best ETA they could give me.

This is probably the largest reason I have for not liking things, I undermine it with the thought of getting acclimated, or somehow dependent on it for some reason. Plasticity can be scary in some cases.

I've done hardcore drugs. Dopamine release is something you can resist becoming acclimated to, if you have the willpower. If you knew that you had some sort of parasite trying to control your behavior, your OUTRIGHT HORROR would probably keep you from allowing it to do so. And also, doctors.
What if the parasites/drugs made you paranoid and you didn't trust doctors to begin with?

It's called "taunting" :P

*4 hours into the final stages of tanning a hide*
Task aborted! You feel suspicious like someone is watching you!
*I turn around*
"...THERE'S NOTHING THERE!"

I've said it before, but damn I cannot wait for that particular "feature" to be fixed. The hide I spent the past four hours beating should not magically become un-beaten just because my character got paranoid. Same for any other time-consuming task.

I call bullshit. This guy has clearly never played a game of monopoly. It always goes for about two hours too long, gets boring for everybody but the two people who go bankrupt very, very quickly, and then gets boring for those two people soon after, and ends in squabbling about where that extra money came from. Monopoly is a family slayer!
What ? But monopoly is a competition and the one that wins is the one that managed to grab the most 100$ (or 500) from the bank without being seen. It's to be more realistic !
No, no. You win monopoly if you manage to get the most expensive street.
Only if other people actually land on it.

Wait, you're supposed to give out flowers? First I've heard of it :o

* Sirus is guilty of doing that to a degree.

Especially over the phone if the connection is scratchy  :-[

While we're on the subject of parasitic growths that alter your mind in various unpleasant ways...

Read or listen to Infected by Scott Sigler. It's really good.

30?! Good gods man, how much did you spend on this game? I've got one slot per nation, plus an extra slot in case I find something I really want to keep.

I actually have seen complaints about the inclusion of gay relationships in video games (from EA or otherwise). Of course, those complaints mainly came from far right-wing sources, but...
Except EA used this as a justification as to why people thought their game was bad. Instead of admitting that their games have clear flaws, they just call gamers sexist and entitled.
Oh, I'm not excusing EA. I was kinda responding to one of the comments in the linked YouTube video. I probably should have quoted it :P

Quote from: Jigwally
Out of all the criticism I regularly see of EA, not once have I seen a single comment complaining about the inclusion of gay people in games. There are just so many legitimate reasons to despise EA, so of course they keep falling back on smokescreens like this.
