Solymr is a gentleman, a scholar, a steely-eyed missleman, and just all around awesome.

To be fair, education is needed to design and build giant ninja robots. So we could totally have both.

Unfortunately for everyone, proper sex education is
A) time-consuming
B) more expensive
C) isn't what Republicans want anyway.

Why bother spending years and tax dollars on teaching young people how to keep themselves safe and healthy when they could be cranking out kids they may not be able to care for?

: "Goodness, that thing came out of nowhere! Is it some sort of ghost ship?" Amberly strode forward, tome in one hand and a holy symbol in the other.

Are they playable? Of course they are! Why wouldn't they be?

Why would they? They don't get elected by the public. Their positions are for life, or until they step down. And the ones in favor of canning the old decision are the types that would cheerfully vote their own way even if 99% of the population disagreed with them.

Anyway, which civil right do you all bet will be targeted next? My personal guess is gay marriage, considering some of the cases referenced in the majority opinion.

Add in a second or two of run time every time the drill is brought out, too. Like giving tongs a couple of test clacks, you gotta make sure the tool is working properly before putting it to use.

Anyway, driving screws usually doesn't take long, but actually drilling holes can take longer depending on bit and material.

I can see the logic in renting specialty gear, like tile cutting table saws or jackhammers, that the average person might use for a single specific project and then never again. But a simple power drill? Those things are useful for all sorts of projects from minor to major, and should be readily available at all times.

What next, banning private ownership of ladders?

: "Astounding. That was an even faster victory that I expected - the tea is still warming up. Well done, Miss Serena."

As with everything, 42 took the unexpected in stride.

Try hunting for a mining starbase producing influence-boosters. Eons ago, in my GalCiv2 LP, I was struggling against Krynn influence and found a massively built-up mining base that was churning out the stuff. Blowing it up turned the tide of the influence war almost at once.

As with all internet spaces, it would probably end up a giant rocket dong. B12's contribution would be to have it spew magma somewhere appropriate.

I'd find time to stick a hypnotoad sticker on it somewhere.
Unfortunately a certain amount of phallucy is required to get a rocket to space with modern tech. Gotta keep things as streamlined and aerodynamic as possible while also minimizing the amount of mass carried along, and that tends to result in rod-shaped ships with tapered points and side-mounted boosters that detach mid-ascent.

Now, if we were talking about some futuristic star-faring vessel unbound by atmosphere or the current laws of physics, I like to think the ISS Twelfth Bay would be made of ever-shifting blocks of modules. This would result in both exterior and interior slowly changing from year to year, never constant, constantly procedurally generating new forms as if under the grip of a mad but brilliant god.

If they mention anything about swings, tread carefully.

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

I keep meaning to ask, but does anyone know any brutally violent animes with halfway decent plots to them?

I watched the first bit of Kengan Ashura a while back, and I have Baki and various Berserk movies and series in watch lists on some streaming platforms, but are there any other ones out there?
You might think about checking out Shigurui (aka Death Frenzy), a Studio Madhouse animated adaptation of the manga series sharing the same name. It's a period drama taking place in Edo Japan, and it holds very little back when it comes to the brutality, fanaticism, or corruption of that time period. While the blurbs will talk up a duel between two samurai, most of the plot is actually in flashback form to explain how these two samurai got to the duel in the first place.

It is extremely NSFW and not just for gore. Fair warning.

This isn't the first time I've seen Iduno express similar sentiments, so my assumption is that he's been drinking one brand of kool-aide or another.
