Of course they are! They'll explode purely to hurt your poor Pokemon ;_;

Ugh. Can't stand earbuds, especially for that price. Give me a cheap pair of headphones any day of the week.

28593
You didn't say anything about the art style, but I vaguely remember something called Cel Damage that was a driving beat-em-up with massive numbers of weapons.

Dang, dude. That's quite a body count :o

My username came from Spore, oddly enough.
Yes, Spore. The one good thing to come out of that game was this bitching username.
Not true. The various creators were pretty cool as well, even if the game itself wasn't all that great.

Just don't turn into the Falling Down guy.
He died.

I think we actually have several username-related threads floating around somewhere :P

Even if trolling, that hurts my soul.

(Sorry this update is a little later than normal. You can read all about my former computer woes in the WTF thread if you so desire :P )

Part 13: The Unluckiest of UpdatesThis is a blatant lie.

Flush with victory, I stepped outside into the bright sunlight. I'm on top of the world! The world is my Clampearl! I feel fanta-

"GET OUT! OUT OF THE WAY!"

Huh what now?

Another one of the Aqua Pirates dashes out of a nearby building and sprints north! Waddling after him at a far more sluggish pace was the same scientist I met in Petalburg Woods, wailing and pleading for the pirate to stop and return the "goods". I reluctantly followed, if only because stealing wasn't a very nice thing for the pirate to do.

Near the eastern exit to the city, I bumped into the scientist, who was bent over trying to catch his breath. He recognized me from before, and proceeded to beg me to catch the thief and return the "goods". What is this, a gangster movie?

Hmm...I bet the pirate is around here somewhere, and there's probably new kinds of Pokemon as well!

Awww :3

D'awwwwww! 83

Sadly, as soon as I named her (Thera, meaning "Wild"), she got sent to "Someone's PC". Apparently you can only have six Pokemon with you at a time, so I couldn't get to know my new friend :(
Wait...focus, Ing! We're on a mission here!

Along the way, I ran into a kid with a Pokemon that looked a bit like Champ. It spent a few minutes strutting around and posing before launching a kick attack against Nina. It basically did nothing, so Nina kicked it right in the face in return, knocking the silly thing flat.
(Author's note: Seriously. First a Leer, then Focus Energy, and then Low Kick. The attack did 1 damage.)

Oooh, that's cool-looking. Sadly, I must have Nina knock it out by kicking it in the face.
*A single Double-Kick later*
Great work girl, now let's keep mov-
Nina? What's wrong?!

YOU'RE AMAZING, NINA!!

Well, this isn't a very good matchup.

FOR THEM!

Ahem. Eventually, we made it to the other side of the pathway. Apparently the government was trying to dig a tunnel here to connect two routes on the other side of this mountain, but then the pirate ran in and threatened everyone to force them out. When I asked how one pirate managed to scare everyone away, an old man with tears streaming down his face told me that the pirate had taken his "Peeko" hostage! Stealing was one thing, but kidnapping? I would not let this guy get away with this.

The tunnel was filled with dense fog...

...and giant bugs! I had to have Wattson paralyze it and use the Great Ball I got earlier to catch it; normal Pokeballs basically bounced right off :(

I named her Portia.

Further inside the tunnel, I found the pirate holding a small bird Pokemon by the neck. The pirate, full of bluster, told me to bring it.

It was brought.

The pirate thrust a package with Devon markings on it at me, causing me to lose my balance as he sprinted out of the cave. Thankfully, he also released his grip on the bird Pokemon, which happily squawked when it saw the old man from before come running over. Seems this bird was his "Peeko".
The man introduced himself as Mr. Briney, a ship captain. He thanked me profusely and told me to come find his cottage near Petalburg Woods if I ever needed his help. I followed him and Peeko out of the cave, as the tunnel wasn't completed yet and I had nothing else to do there.

Back in Rustboro City, I found the scientist and returned the "goods" to him. He gave me another Great Ball to replace the one I lost and offered to give me a tour of Devon Corporation's primary office building. It didn't sound terribly exciting to me, but I went along with it anyway.

It actually wasn't that boring after all. Lots of people researching many different things, although none of them could exactly give away details of what was going on. Anyway, this guy's still droning on about stock values, and newer medicines, and could I please deliver the package to Slateport City, and...
Wait.
What.

Oh you clever jerk. He waited until I was just nodding along and got me to do his job for him!  >:[

As a sort of consolation, I got introduced to Mr. Stone, the President of Devon Corp. He gave me another go-fer job to some place called Dewford Town, but in return I got to demo a new piece of equipment called the PokeNav! It includes a map and all sorts of useful functions. All I have to do is wear it visibly on my wrist and tell all of my friends abou - Wait...
SONOFA--Now I'm doing their advertising! I take it back, now I hate this place.

Nothing! No viruses, no malware, no rootkits, no spyware! Every little issue I had yesterday seems to have magically fixed itself and I've spent the past 24 hours running various scans that found nothing!

I'm happy that my computer seems to be clean. Still WTFing over it all though.

You know that moment, where the space marines have defeated the aliens, and most of them have survived, and they are patting each other on the back, then one of them starts having chest pains?
Don't you go tempting fate any more than I did, anyway.  :(

You'd definitely have a solid mix of attack and defense types. Not sure how well their stats compete.
