I started playing Oblivion not too long ago. I'm currently learning the wonders of Enchanting Table abuse and have 60% Chameleon more or less full-time :P

@ Frumple:

I think you're seriously over-estimating the Ork's Waaaagh! power  :-\

They can't just imagine some sort of mega-insta-kill weapon and have it pop into existence. Nor can they create matter out of nothing. They work with whatever is available to create weapons that may vary tremendously in power, from enemy ship-killing to self-destructing.
Look at it this way: Orks think that they cannot lose, and will charge into battle as though they are unkillable. They believe both of those things with every fiber of their being, and both of those things are false. Orks can and lose battles, they can and do die. It's the same way with their weapons, armor, and ships.

Besides, Ork spores need time and nutrients of some sort to grow. The Executor could simply run a rigorous quarantine and decontamination procedure after the battle, using droids if needed.

According to Wookiepedia, turbolasers have a recharge time of about 2 or 3 seconds. Each. That's a crapton of firepower.

Not now, Vgray :P

My view is that turbolasers may be weak in comparison to WH40k weapons, they're a hell of a lot safer and more accurate. Consider that in the 40k verse, ship battles tend to end with one ship or the other a broken hull spiraling away through the void/burning up in a planet's atmosphere. In Star Wars, on the other hand, turbolasers are accurate enough to pinpoint-target things like engines, shield generators, and weapon emplacements. Plus 40k fluff loves to go into detail about how ancient, complex, and temperamental ship systems - especially weapons - are. Whereas in SW things don't generally break down unless it's in battle, and the systems can be more-or-less easily repaired or replaced.

The Executor probably has more raw (and far more accurate) firepower and an impressive complement of small craft to help keep it alive. The Orks in a space hulk are individually mighty, but their ranged weapons tend to be sub-par and the hulk might not even have functioning shields.

In a one-on-one space battle, edge goes to the Executor.

Is Morgan Freeman included in that? Because if he is, the Aliens might as well lay down and quit right now :P

The only thing I'm really worried about is the Nosepass. I remember that thing being pretty nasty to my old Ruby team, and I doubt it got any easier in Emerald. Geodude is weaksauce in comparison.

Another Fire Emblem game? Hell yeah!

My online times are somewhat random. Let's see...
I'm online most of the weekend, but I can be AFK for long stretches of time.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I'm online from 18:00 to around 20:30 GMT.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 21:00 to the next day GMT.
I'm Pacific Time, by the way.

Aren't these the same guys who refused to roll back the server after one
alliance lost a major battle because of real-world sabotage?

If you're referring to the End of BoB, that wasn't real world sabotage so much as simply one of BoB's directors deciding to defect. He arranged for the corporation to be dissolved by conveniently "forgetting" to pay its bills, gave away a bunch of their assets before it did and then they started a new corporation with the same name to keep the previous members from reincorporating with it.

Then there was the guy who started a corportion, called it a "bank" and promised interest payments to people who made deposits. Made payments to people for a while to make it seem legitimate and convince more people to participate. Then after he'd collected 750 billion ISK, he walked away with it.

Such things are an officially endorsed playstyle in Eve.
I'm pretty sure the rumor Sirus was thinking of was the one that alleged that a member of one corp cut the power to one of their opponents' leader's house during a battle. I've got no idea as to the veracity of that particular claim, but it's one of the ones which has been floating around for a long time, relatively speaking.
Yeah, that's the one. I've heard about the End of BoB already, and I once was tempted to run a legit bank :P

Well, obviously the strategy can change along the way :P
And I'm not counting on Genji sweeping the Rock Gym, but he'd have a 4x attack advantage against any Rock/Ground types like Geodude.

(Today is an gameplay-less update. Sorry! But to make up for it, have an overdose of Paint!)

Part 11: Pre-Gym Prep

Wow! Rustboro City is a massive place compared to Littleroot or Petalburg. So many people and buildings! But we're not here to sight-see...
We've got a badge to earn.

Hey, this must be the place! Dad said that the leader of this gym was named "Roxanne". I wonder what kind of Pokemon she uses?

Well, let's take a look-see. I've got a pretty diverse team, I should be able to take on any-

!!!

(Later...)

Alright guys...

Group meeting.

I checked out the gym in this city, to get an idea of what we'd be facing. Turns out it's not good. We're dealing with-
Rock types. You six are all great Pokemon, but we're going in at a pretty severe disadvantage in terms of typing. What's worse, only Wattson has a level in the double-digits and I'm pretty sure that the Gym Leader at the very least is stronger than that.

And if that wasn't enough, none of you can use that "Bullet Seed" TM we picked up from that guy outside of town. So that leaves us with only one real plan of attack.

Genji, you're gonna be our front-line heavy hitter. You're the only one with an attack effective against rock-types, and you've got the toughness to hopefully take some hits.

Champ, you might only know Tackle, but you've got a defensive advantage against rock-type attacks. You might have to take a couple of hits if Genji needs healing.
Nina, you don't really have any advantages or disadvantages, but if we're lucky the enemy Pokemon will poison themselves on your spines. You've also got the ability to lower the enemy's attack or defensive power, which could prove useful.
Wattson, you're pretty much in the same boat. The worst part is that if the Geodudes in Petalburg Woods are anything to go by, your Thunder Wave won't even affect the Pokemon in that gym. So you'll probably sit this one out.

Tara, Lady...I'm sorry, but I can't risk you two unless things get really desperate. Both of you are weak to rock attacks and neither of you have any effective moves.

This is only our first gym. We've had some close calls already, and I don't want to lose anyone if I can avoid it. Let's get some training in, and then we'll show Roxanne a thing or two!

Jigoro is just a jerkass :P
Unless you were also being a jerkass, I think you're good.
