So, are you guys saying that if you have friends on Steam who also play the game, you have a chance to get their items/characters? How does that work?
When you retire a character, you can leave one item to become a random drop. You can name it, and it will show up later in other games. If your Steam friends have retired characters, you can find their legacy items as random drops as well. So that kickass gun, or rechargeable extreme range swapper, or ridiculous grenade launcher can show up in other people's games and visa versa.
As far as characters go, PCs can get captured on their missions rather than killed. A captured PC can be rescued by another player, after which the PC will work for that player and even retain some of his/her inventory.
Neat, I've rescued my PCs before, but didn't realize I could rescue them from others. And all you need is to be friends with the other person on Steam for a chance of that happening?
As far as I know, yes. It's apparently a pretty rare event, fewer than 1% of players on Steam have the achievement for rescuing a friend's character.

I don't know if anyone blundered into this yet, but subverters actually unlock doors within their range. That makes them massively more useful than I'd previously thought.
Say WHAT?!

I found an heirloom! "Feels like Corvo", the self-charging sidewinder. Neat.

Some of these personal missions are absurdly brutal. My very first one had a couple dozen permanently-shielded enemies running around with longswords, and perma-shielded bosses carrying keycards with shotguns. The ship had lots of turrets and a very short alarm response time. My Shockcoil Launcher (the self-charging subversive grenade launcher I mentioned on the first page) helped a lot, but I had to be very *very* careful to not subvert the turrets lest they alert the guards with their ineffectual shooting. Had to restart many times due to bad placement but eventually made it.

I...have yet to kill a single hard mode boss. I don't know if my arena-building skills are just too poor for the task or if I'm just not good enough at maneuvering, but I can't handle them.

The brick seems ideal for bypassing all sorts of security. Not great for ghost missions, but if your target is close to the exterior and/or on a tight time limit, not having to deal with a half-dozen keycards or heavily defended mooks can make or break a mission.

I'll add folks, sure.

You'll know it when one of my items pops up. I always give them a "SirusTech" prefix followed by whatever silly title I can come up with.

Be warned! There's a fairly serious bug when renaming your items. If you press the "F" key for any reason, it'll instantly sell whatever you were trying to name and you can't get it back. I just lost a quiet, quick-firing, armor-piercing concussion gun due to this.
