Watching and doing a bit of informal proofreading :P

Star Control 3 is the... kinda sequel to Star Control 3.
Something about that seem odd?

Part 1: A New Home

Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokemon. My name is Ing Fuck, and I'll be the greatest trainer ever someday!
Yeah, I know what you're thinking about the name. Dad says that he's from an old German family.

Anyway, Mom and Dad broke up a short while ago. Dad stayed in Petalburg to run his gym, while Mom and I decided to move to Littleroot Town.

Of course, I had to ride in the back with all of the boxes.
After a few hours, the truck came to a sudden stop that nearly toppled a few of the nearby stacks, and the back gate opened. Squinting against the sudden light, I stepped out and took a look around.

Huh. It's actually kinda nice. Mom ushers me into our new house, telling me about all the features. Apparently my room upstairs (yes, I get my own room!) is already set up, with the exception of the clock. I'll need to set that up myself, but my computer is all ready to go.

The Vigoroth movers sure are busy. Doesn't look like they know where everything goes though.

Damn, but I have a lot of space up here. I set my clock's time and play video games for a while until I hear the moving truck pull away. Time for a snack!

When I get downstairs though, my plans are thwarted. Mom tells me to go around town and introduce myself, especially to the neighbors. Apparently some scientist lives there.

Folks around here seem dull, but pleasant enough. There's a big building filled with scientific equipment south of the house, but it's empty except for one nerdy-looking guy who tells me that the "Prof" is out. Up north is the route we took to get here, but when I try to leave some half-size brat tells me that wild Pokemon live in tall grass, and they can be dangerous. With nothing else to do, I try the house next to ours.

Our neighbor seems like a nice lady. Her husband's name is Professor Birch, though he isn't at home. She tells me to go upstairs and introduce myself to her daughter.

She's busy working on something though, and after a brief introduction (all I find out is her name: May) ignores me entirely. Awkward...

So I wander around outside some more. I check back at the lab, but Birch still isn't there. I'm rapidly growing bored, and I'm thinking of going back to my room when I hear a commotion at the edge of town.

The little girl, who seems to be Littleroot's only police force of note, tells me that she heard shouts and Pokemon calls from down the road a bit. She asks me to check it out, and since I have nothing better to do I walk down the path.

I see a man off in the distance, running and dodging every which way. He's clearly being chased by something! Is it a Pokemon? Perhaps a fearsome man-eating predator? Suddenly, the man makes a wrong turn and is cornered against a tree! I finally get a good look at the pursuer and...

...Really? That thing doesn't look threatening at all! Hell, I could probably scare it away by waving my arms around!
Anyway. The man screams at me to take a Pokeball from his bag and use it to fight off the little thing. I'm about to tell him to quit being such a wuss when my brain realizes what he just said.
Me. Pokemon. Battle. It's like a dream come true! I quickly dive for the bag and pull out three balls. Which one should I use?

Also...what should I name it?

General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

Nitpicking:
Nitpicking:
I ask because several people on here were not in fact always a girl.
Don't say something like this to an actual trans person. They were always the gender they identified as. The difference is simply skin deep, so to speak; what's on the outside finally matches what's on the inside.
The difference is a little more than skin deep; DrPoo, for example, won't suddenly have ovaries and a uterus.

:P

The newest Unsounded. It's a fetus forest.
This right here? All my WTFs for today O_o

Even if the scheme failed, there's still a lot of cheese. Triple mozzarella, feta, double parmesan/asiago, double provolone. There's also some anchovies and spinach in there.
Great Gorgonzola! That's pretty ridiculous :o

28896
It turns out Domino's has a built-in limit on the number of toppings you can put on a pizza online. My scheme to set every cheese to triple is a failure.
You're happy that your scheme failed?

I saw six new emails and got hopeful that my ex finally wanted to talk to me again. It was Youtube comment replies, a Netflix reminder and a chain message spam thing. Then I remembered that nobody really wants to talk to me anymore unless they need help with homework.
Speaking of, what do you know about the American Civil War? I have an assignment due today, see...

'Sfine. Made me smile at least. I still feel like binging on mochi though, and there's an Asian market very near.
Sounds good!

Ohh the unwinnable situation was simple... I ran into a ship that was maxed out and that had all missle systems (and not bad ones either, these are the good ones) and all of those missles hit (which is twilight zone badluck) and they all hit in critical spots and they ALL started fires.

No defense drones? No cloak? No high evade? No crew to rapidly repair the important systems?

Then you shouldn't have stuck around to fight it out, you should've been putting full power to the engines and jumping the hell away.
None of those things guarantee your safety, you know. I've been hit multiple times during a single cloak before (90% evasion), and defense drones can miss.

Even using only one or two missiles per fight, I would still run out/ be forced to flee. If none of your encounters drop missiles, or if the critical shield-weakening missile fails to hit the target and forces you to fire another, you're gonna run out PDQ.

Oddly enough, it's only the Kestral that has this problem. Even on the Rock Cruiser I always had enough missiles to spare; those losses were due to other circumstances :P

28901
Funnily enough, I have yet to win a game with the Kestral. If anything, it's too well-rounded. All of it's stats are so average that if you choose to upgrade the wrong thing at the wrong time you're in for some pain. And while I'm practically swimming in missiles in every other ship, I've never had a Kestral run where I wasn't strictly rationing myself to maybe one missile per battle, and even then I had to buy out every store I came across.

Then I play with the Federation cruiser and have over 60 missiles by the end, no weapon to shoot them with, and I win handily. I just don't get it.

I think we're limited to 7 characters for the name. The romhack could change that, but I'll go for a classic anyhow:

Gender: Male
Name: "Fuck, I"

Pseudo-edit: Ninja'd by the OP. Golly.

NEXT TIME ON GAME GRUMPS?
So is that a "+1" for the name? If so, I can get started right away :)

28903
Seven-character limit for player names :P

28904
Oh hey dere! You're like, one of my inspirations for this thread :D

By the way people, we still need suggestions for the gender and name of the PC!

Wut? If the ion blast hits the shields, the shields are weakened/go down for about eight seconds. However, in four seconds another blast is launched. This will either hit whatever you have targeted or continue wearing down the shields. If you keep the blast constantly hitting the shield room, they're defenseless (other than evasion).

Shields have two hits per shield level incase you forgot.

The most it can do is stop 1 entire shield level.

Assuming of course you are using an Ion 1... which we are talking about.
No, because I believe you keep hitting them and resetting the disable timer. You're hitting it faster than it can recover.

And I specifically mentioned Ion Blast II. Ion I was never mentioned :|
