I found 40d evil forts easy as well, but that was due to poor luck rather than anything else. Every time I made an evil fort, hoping for hordes of undead creatures to assail my front gates, I got nothing but mountain goats or similar creatures that were neither evil nor particularly dangerous.

I can't seem to find a middle ground between "mind-numbingly dull" and "fort crumbles in five minutes or less"  :-\

Yet Christian Atheists actually exist, and are really cool people.

"Jesus was a cool guy. Do as he did. There is no god though - that shit is just crazy."
I assume they leave out the parts about walking on water and whatever other miracles happened?

They treat the stories as metaphorical rather than literal.
But other parts are meant to be taken literally instead? Sounds familiar...

So, FIRST kickoff today. We have to throw frisbees at tiny targets then climb ten foot pyramids with 130 pound robots. This is going to be glorious.
What the heck is this? O_o

Good lord, that looks awesome. I was in a similar organization, but it was focused more on building job skills than exploring science through fun <_<;

Good luck!
You should head out to one of your regionals. Ten thousand screaming fans at a robot competition is freaking amazing.
Looks like the nearest one is about 5 hours away :P

So, has anybody here played Dark Souls? I'm strongly considering picking it up during the current Steam sale, but I don't want to bother if enjoying it would also require picking up an X-box controller from somewhere.
We have a couple of Steam threads in the Other Games forum, you might have more luck there :)

"Oh hey! I've been looking for this soundtrack. Download plz!"
"Darn, slow speeds. Gonna be at least 20 minutes."
*Approximately 17 minutes later*
"Five minutes...two...one...30 seconds!"
*WinRAR pops up: Unexpected end of archive! Whole .zip is useless, LOL*

Stiiiiiiiil waiting...
Majestic7, YOU LOSE!

vagel7, now it's your turn! I'm frankly astonished that third place has a chance for the prize, but there you go.

I apologize but I can't actually argue against the races anymore since the recent racial stuff has made me support their inclusion, if not some of their designs.

I also could not see how adding the ability to chose different aesthetic characters in Mario games would make it crappier, given it woulb be a superset of the original game - just chose Mario and enjoy the exact same experience.

If this was true, every single game would have an optional character creator by now. But there's a strength in having iconic characters that everyone recognizes, and customization detracts from that. Yeah, you can still choose Mario, but everyone with a different character is having a different experience. This typically only works well in RPGs.
The simplest response to that is to have iconic NPCs and art instead.

Look at, say, Minecraft. Everyone recognizes Steve?. Everyone recognizes the Creeper. Being able to have custom graphic packs and player skins has done nothing to reduce consumer recognition.

Curse my lack of drawing skills! I so want to sketch that out :P

Canadians. Polite. Pfffffft. We're just as rude and asshole-ish as the rest of the world for the most part.
How can Canada be rude?  They have all those cute penguins over there.  You can't be rude when you have penguins.
Please be a joke :<
I hope I am joking too.  If I turn into one of those people who think there are penguins in Canada...
To be fair, turns out there are penguins in Canada!
