Well folks, I'm sure this will come as little surprise to most of you but I'm officially killing Scum of the Empire. I'm really very sorry about it  :-\

I think I bit off a little more than I could chew going in; the unusual start, the greater-than-normal amount of equipment getting thrown at the players, trying to invent entirely new weapon categories and enemies. Next time I run an FEF (and I do intend to try again some day) I'll make a greater effort to stick to basics. That and make a greater effort to update on time.

I'd be happy to answer any questions y'all might have, here or in the IRC. Sorry once again.

There at the expo? Oh yes, all sorts of people showing off their latest and greatest creations, along with seminars on how to make your own constructs. Fascinating stuff. I think that'll be my next big project, assuming that smith doesn't come by to have his warhammer enchanted.

Yes, just got back from the IWE! It ran a bit long this year; Merlin had this absolutely fascinating demonstration on the benefits and dangers of the Elemental Plane of Spice. Suffice to say that there were more than a few burned tongues before it was all over.

"Oh, in most situations I would have haggled. Expensive items like those are usually marked-up quite a bit so the seller can make some profit. In this case however, they're pretty much perfect.

"Well, it looks like we've got some unexpected time on our hands. Any suggestions?"

Amberly kept up the pursuit, wanting to stop the bandits before they could find the House of Scholars. She floated over the sand with ease.

Farra tried to see if she could recognize the tune from days of hearing traders whistle while they worked, but to no avail. Nevertheless, she listened, for it was better sounding than what argument had spawned from that terrifying sword.

"Truley lovely! Hmm... Where do you hear those songs anyways? They suit your talent, but I don't recognize them.

: "Oh hey, Farra. Well, my parents ran a mill and the grain merchants would often sing while they waited for their flour. After the war, I moved to the city and picked up more songs in the taverns and inns. Aaaand I make some of them up!"

Driving at night can be dangerous, due to the blinding effects of oncoming headlights (so many dipshits leave their high beams on!) and the aforementioned lack of stuff to focus on luring drivers into a lull.

That said, wow the main reason I stick to my early-morning start time is the relative lack of traffic to deal with.

Looked like everyone was going to live! Well, everyone who wasn't a Mordo soldier anyway. Tapping out an easy rhythm on her drum set, Sam began a celebratory song in the hopes of either easing the mood or drowning out the growing argument in the other room.

Guess she and Brock were still fighting. Sam administered some basic first aid to the musclebound man, managing to at least stop the bleeding.
