Are you asking what vaporware is, or what they're talking about?
What is vaporware, and why is it supposedly bad?
Software that's supposed to be forthcoming, but never materializes. Hence, "Vapor". Duke Nukem 3d was the epitome of vaporware for the longest time.
And Duke Nukem Forever was thought to be this for something like 15 years, IIRC.

Capsized, maybe?

LW posted this in the RAGE thread in response to all the (Perfectly justified) EA-bashing.

Thrive is an Indie project widely inspired by the concept behind Spore. Though Spore was initially billed as a realistic, scientific game about evolution, the final product got watered down until it had practically nothing to do with science or reality. Thrive aims to succeed where Spore failed. Thrive will be a free, open-source game created by an online community of dedicated volunteers. They seek to accomplish two major goals: create engaging, compelling gameplay that respects the players’ intelligence, and remain as accurate as possible in their depiction of known scientific theory.

YEEES

I would sell my kidneys to fund a game like that.
I'm not holding my breath, to be honest. Isn't there at least one other indie project with a similar idea that's been vaporware for years?

You people need to be more blunt with your cats.  They can handle it :P
I would move my cat out of the way so I could lie down, and she'd sleep right next to my head.

...I miss her  :(

On the one hand, I'm happy as an X-COM fan that random, unavoidable death will still be a thing, even on Easy.

On the other, I am utterly rage-filled by the fact that this guy got the game for free and before the fans who actually paid money for it  >:(

3 British Frigates vs a dozen French Brigs.

3 brigs were captured. A fourth escaped. The rest sank.

Empire always crashes for me every time I seige a town. D:

Best word? Free.

Worst word? "Free".

Okay, they've been stuck a LOT longer. Still, once technology starts to advance it has a habit of doing so at a very rapid rate.

Re: Sozin's Comet, I'd like to see a sort of resurgence of nationalism, Fire Nation in particular. Descendants of the various nations would be demanding compensation for the various atrocities they committed, firebenders would long for the days in which they held nearly uncontested dominion over the world. And if Republic City looks a lot like early-twentieth century New York City...imagine what a pre/early World War II Avatar world would be like?

My dreams are either incredibly sexy or incoherent and terrifying. Occasionally both.
You too, eh?
