You were expecting FTL to never betray you? FTL is the "spoiled rotten girl who constantly cheats on the protagonist" of the video game world. If you aren't dead in the first sector, that's only because the RNG has granted you temporary respite :P

Heavy lasers aren't that bad, actually. They only use 1 power and charge faster than most normal lasers. Not so useful against standard shields, but if the shields are down you can deliver a powerful hit that has a pretty good chance of starting fires or breaching.

Eh. I don't watch slasher films either, so even if I were a metalhead I doubt I'd enjoy GWAR. :P

I just installed a add-on for Google Chrome which replaces youtube comments with random sequences of Herp and Derp. All of the value of the average youtube comment, with none of the headaches!
But then you miss out on the genuinely good and thoughtf-BWAHAHAHAHA!
I couldn't say it with a straight face.

Actually, mine didn't have THAT much of his blood on it. He got most of it on himself. He kept his head a bit too low in the mosh pit and tore out one of his ear ... thingies. The earrings that fit entirely inside the hole and you can see through them? Like:

But any is a bit too much. really. And apparently getting one of those torn out bleeds A LOT.

Most of it came from the lead singer's giant blood spewing penis and from the various folks that were violently (theatrically) dismembered on stage, like Snookie.

Ah, the joys of a GWAR show.
I had second thoughts about posting this, but I was threatened with loss of respect (and punching) if I didn't :P

...Could I crosspost that to the WTF thread? O_o

I've seen ships with nothing but heavy lasers, and more than a few late-game enemies with at least two Hermes missiles (the big nasty ones that do 3 damage each). So I'd say the odds are pretty good :P

Ah-ha! The tables have turned, my friends!

Ugh. You are an embarrassment to XY chromosomes everywhere, Scumbag Steve  :(

"Actually applying medical attention" for these wounds would probably require a team of paramedics and plenty of time to stabilize each patient. Since you can't have stuff like that breaking up the flow of gameplay (and the paramedics would probably drop like flies), medical SPRAY. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the soldiers were simply healed for the fight, but still had to spend time in the hospital once they got back.

And once again, a spray that you can only use on the guy standing right next to you (or yourself) is not a "gun". This is a medicine gun, at least the way you're claiming.

Humans are perfectly capable of handling the task as long as you are patient and careful.
Those humans and Zolton weren't my boarding party, they were the ENTIRE CREW. My pilot, my shield operator, and my weapon guy. If I had warped them over, my ship would have been obliterated.

It's a long-standing video game convention. Same as any of the various health kits, painkillers, hearts, etc that have been around since the NES days. Pick up or use healing item, get health back.

You might as well hate on all of that stuff as well, since it fulfills the exact same purpose.

Teleporter with two humans and one Zolton. That was it.

I have no idea, but I didn't have any of those options anyway. All I had were laser beams. guns.

ETA: Why'd I say beams? :|
