I'm thinking of making a custom "adventure" map. This world editor has some pretty powerful features to it, including the ability to gen entire worlds from scratch.

The only reason I dislike Assassin's Creed is because it refused to work on a system that met the recommended specs <_<;
Like, the visuals were horribly out-of-sync with the sound, to the point where the first cutscene's dialog was finished before the scene was half over.

I have never seen 4 of any weapon in a single run, let alone been able to collect them :o

Also: Rebel ships with 3 shields, System Repair Drones, AND Mk II Defense Drones are a pain in the ass. I had to fire the BL-MKII and the Missile Launcher simultaneously to even hope to lower shields enough for a Halberd/Fire Beam strike.

I find it hilarious that even with the sheer, unending amount of crap that the RNG can heap on you, people are still playing this game so much. Losing really is part of the fun!

On second phase of boss fight with the same Zolton Cruiser. Will my Burst Laser II, Halberd Beam, Fire Beam, and Leto Missile be able to do enough damage fast enough? Keep in mind I only have two layers of shields and no cloak or boarding :P

EDIT: Nnnnnnnnnnnnope. Holy crap, I don't think I've ever died quite so quickly to the dronespam xD

Wish me luck! I think the quest is actually in the next sector, as there are no markers in this one.

EDIT: Success! Once I managed to get a good slice with the Halberd Beam, it was easy.

I used to work in a library. Simple alphabetical order doesn't bother me :P

Anyway, I think I'm on track towards unlocking the slug ship. I got a quest marker from a slug pirate who would have given me the bio-beam, but I heard that you needed to defeat the quest ship in a certain way. Is that true or not?

Again though, you pretty much HAVE to play poorly to show off some features. Going out of your way to say "And now I'm going to do this incredibly stupid thing on purpose just to show off" will just make players feel like idiots, especially when they inevitably do the same thing by accident.

Besides, if they did do something like that, they'd just be accused of "dumbing down" or "spoon-feeding" information to the fans, frequently by the same people who complain about the pretending to do bad. You can't please everyone, and some people refused to be pleased.

Why? You know as well as I do that if Firaxis never showed off what happens when you do poorly, we'd have legions of whiners claiming stuff like no perma-death, squad members can be brought back to life mid-battle, stuff like that.

Y'know what's really fun? Sector 1 in the Zolton Cruiser, when solar flares not only start a fire in the cockpit but knock it out as well. Your pisspoor Zolton crew would die before they could put the fire out, so you have to evacuate and drain several rooms of air, then wait for the fire to be put out, then for air to be restored, and finally fixing the helm all while further flares cause damage and force you to drain half the ship of oxygen, and THEN you have to wait for the engine to recharge. I took more damage from the flares than I did from the enemy ship, which went down before the first flare had even hit!

It can't damage through shields, sadly. Dunno about the recharge time.
