Oh hey, I'm glad to see that my suggestion panned out :D

I could see the aliens doing this quite realistically. From the alien perspective, it's a win-win. Even if X-COM suspects a trap, they have to show up and get shot at. Otherwise a major piece of infrastructure is destroyed and the country targeted might decide to pull funding.

@ Shadowlord: You're right, a good defensive drone can work minor miracles.

Apparently the captain is always true to his/her word, and will not scrap a surrendered vessel.

Nice one :P

That artillery beam is seriously awesome.

After days of struggling, I managed to beat FTL today...twice! Second time was almost a cakewalk, hardly took any damage in the boss fight :D

Okay! Do I get an energy gun, or a laser sword, or something?

Is this some meta-sci-fi where the important, unkillable characters get red shirts? <_<

Up till 3 + up at 7 = bad times.
When this happens to me, I usually just say "f**k it" and stay up all night. You're probably not gonna get any REM sleep anyway, so just make it up the next night.

Ooo, I wanna be in a sci-fi!

Yeah, that makes sense. Moving smaller objects would be much more difficult, short of wide-scale effects that would be far more difficult to control (like, reversing gravity for an entire room).

And yeah, singularities are way beyond just a little bit out of his range.

Well, the effects can only occur within a short range of him, and he cannot affect anything that lies outside or extends beyond that range.

Gravity is kinda telekinesis, but can also do cool things like bend light or (with sufficient concentration) create singularities, making it much cooler :P
