Any word on the possibility of moving the actual gameplay sessions to another day? I love the idea of this game (Fire Emblem! In a tabletop setting! With multiple people!), but I can't really stick with it if I'm only playing less than 50% of the time. I miss all sorts of RP opportunities and rarely get to click any buttons  :-\

Well, sorry Grek. It's been fun  :-\

So...what did I miss aside from combat slowdown? Did we save the Princess, or are we all dead?

I actually used the Glaive to great effect on the default Kestral. Use the standard burst laser to wear the shields down, then follow up with the beam o' death. Even if the shields begin coming back, the Glaive has enough power to punch right through, and if you use it on the shield room it usually means that the enemy ship will have fewer shield points to defend against the burst laser, and so on and so forth. Still didn't kill the boss :P

And yeah, the bio-beam was massively disappointing. I should have sold it for an additional laser or something.

Whoa, when did it take a whole hour to run combat? I mean, sure the RP can get in the way sometimes but the combat goes about as smooth as you can get.

Forget drones, I hate boarders. Seems like every mid-to-late-game enemy has them, and unless you have a pre-ignitor (only ever seen it once, and it's pricy) and a weapon that can hit through the shields, you'll have a bunch of dudes on your ship wreaking havoc with no easy way to get rid of them. What's worse is that they always seem to hit harder than your own crew, which means that even if you have a numerical advantage you have to constantly rotate guys through the medical bay.
A) They don't hit harder, 1v1 you will win (since your dude gets a extra attack as they walk into the room).
B) If you have upgraded doors you can almost always take out most of their health by venting the air (and kill them when they walk into the shield room with 20 health).
Yes, they can be a pain in the butt, but as long as you have doors upgraded and you have a few crew members they aren't much threat.
Boarding drones are more annoying, but they aren't really that bad as long as you have enough crew members.
It's never 1-on-1 at first, because you can't tell where they're boarding and I've never seen fewer than two board at once. Plus boarders are frequently Mantis men, which will win most 1v1 fights anyway.
Upgraded doors, even level 3 doors, never seem to hold out long, at least not long enough to drain the air. The boarders would have to cut through several sets of doors, choking all the way, to have any effect.

I haven't heard anything about it for quite some time.

Which is kinda a shame, since I thought the FPS looked kinda neat. It wasn't X-COM, but the idea of 50s-era FBI agents fighting eldritch abominations is pretty awesome.

I don't recall anything solid about a cap on soldiers, but I do recall footage of soldiers recuperating at the base hospital (implying that you could have extra soldiers to fill in any temporary gaps in your primary squad), and of course there was the famous Sid Myer mission when a squad of rookies had to get bailed out by a more elite squad. That second one was probably just for the press, but it does kinda imply that you can have multiple, fully-equipped squads in the late game.

I nearly got the Zoltan cruiser once, but screwed up during the dialog portion. I even accepted the surrender offer of the enemy ship, hoping that it would be enough, but no dice :P

Current run is the same as the last one I posted about, getting the TLS achievement. Still alive, with both a rock and a slug crewmen, four humans, a Glaive beam and the Bio-Beam. Also have cloaking. I dunno if this is a win-worthy run so far, but this isn't turning out so badly.

31031
Y'know, I've never gotten fuel from a surrendering ship. If I'm running low, I will actually finish them off because I tend to have better luck that way.

Also, I have never once had a Zoltan crew member. I've had one slug and I managed to find the crystal crew member once, but never a Zoltan. Not even at shops.

People shave their armpits? I never even think about mine unless I'm applying deodorant.

I just managed to get Tough Little Ship legitimately (through combat damage and a lucky nearby shop), and if I hadn't been focusing on increasing engine power I probably would have died :o
Kestral laybout B get!

I doubt this run will see a victory, but at least I unlocked something.

There was a brief monologue on House about this very subject. I can try to look it up :P
