Eh, it wasn't the worst movie, or even the worst animated or video game-based movie ever. It definitely looked nice.

As far as CG vs Traditional animation, I'm open to both, even mixes of the two. Some of my favorite films have been Disney-Pixar works like WALL-E and Up. Then again, traditional animation really has it's moments.

The creature known as the Titan. It is at least five times taller than a dwarf (taller when it rears up to attack), 10 times as long (basically some sort of centipede), faster, tougher, much much stronger. Highly aggressive, will even ignore nearby food to attack another living thing. It is also the most common creature around the struggling capital of Goldleaf and single specimens have been responsible for over six deaths in a row.

I remember creating a dating website profile back in '06. It was basically wasted money  :-\

Hope you have better luck!

Or fighting off-road through bears and fjords.
That sounds...fucking awesome! I have to buy a snowmobile, guys, I'll be right back...
I love the mental image of you driving or snowmobile-ing trough snowy hills, and punching random bears in the face.
How do you think Chuck Norris commutes to work?

Ok, digging my new home system so far. Through sheer chance, my homeworld is actually a large moon orbiting a gas giant. Makes for some amazing visuals! The gas giant, of course, has unofficially been named Armok.

Looking into the sky, I can see several other gas giants, three or four of them. One is actually quite close to Armok in stellar terms; it blocks part of the sun just about every day.

In another amazing coincidence, I spawned high in the mountains, high enough that I can pass the lower cloud layer in places simply by walking around. I know dwarves are supposed to live under mountains, not on top of them, but I figured it made a good place for my capital.

And perhaps I was just logged in at a slow time, but there was very little noticeable lag. Aside from the horrifically powerful creatures that kill me on a regular basis, I'm really enjoying my latest foray into SoH.

Today I learned about Conservapedia Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
To be fair, there's at least an even chance that any one article on Conservapedia was written by trolls as a parody.

Bodyfeeder enchant seems amazing right now, especially for my paladin. He rarely gets hit (except by magic, but I just make magic users top priority), doesn't take much damage when he does get hit, and crits often enough that on the rare occasions that he does take a decent amount of damage, the enchant kicks in again and he's back to above full health. I soloed the last quest on the starting island and took more actual HP damage from falling than I ever did against the hordes of zombies, ghouls, ice spiders, and cultists.

You mean like a capitol building or something?

From an IC perspective, it seems like many nobles do indeed see Astrum as having abandoned them. Not all of them by a long shot, but some of the more vocal ones.

Question is, would people be able to make their own empires after leaving an existing one?

Probably the easiest solution would be to build an empire to the point that one could make a massive, long-range colony vessel (at least TL2, possibly higher) and travel directly to a pre-determined sector to found a new capital world.

Of course, that's an additional level of micromanagement that you may not wish to do :P
Up to you, really.

I have no idea how you'd simulate a martial trance in SoH :P

And wouldn't forming a federation require relative proximity? It'd be hard to meet for trade or conferences if we're a few thousand parsecs away from each other.

Bah. My first race on SoH relied on pure dwarven ingenuity and tenacity. No flying, no jumping, no special powers.
