Be sure to include a cargo transfer system (or whatever it's called) in your freighter design. That will significantly reduce the time it takes for your freighters to pick up and drop off cargo.

Please note however, that you can go into the negatives for starting RP without any consequence or warning. If you don't want to give yourself to many advantages, keep track of how many you've got left to spend.

Does the character have to be a dwarf? I've got a decent human paladin going right now.

Pretty much all of that (with the possible exceptions of "artificial boundaries") is within the possibility of science. It'll just take some time before we get to that point :)

I heard somewhere or another that you could unlock additional races or classes through gameplay, not spending money. Is that still the case? A dwarven artificer sounds pretty cool :)

Also, what server/world is the B12 guild on? Or is it all servers?

All I meant was that I haven't even played the game yet (patching takes quite a long time), so I'm not sure if I'll be playing long enough to join a guild. I'm fine with not having the greatest airship or whatever :P

Man, in my day we did everything in notebooks and grid / hex paper, u kids with you fancy computerized dm'ing ... :P

Tried that. Does not work with people on four different continents.
And even with the computers, things don't always work properly :P

I'm currently patching this. Not sure if I'll join any B12 guilds, gonna check it out first.

It doesn't have to be a writer :P

Edited first post. Scout, you're fine and entered.

I've had these items sitting in my Steam gift list for a while, so I figure I'll share the wealth :D
  • Gratuitous Space Battles: Best way I can describe this is an RTS without much in the way of direct strategy. You customize dozens of different ship hulls from four different races with a huge variety of weapons and modules, arrange them in whatever formations and groups you like, and send them up against an enemy fleet. Battles are controlled entirely by the AI, but you'll have a very pretty lightshow in the meantime. Best as I can tell, this does NOT come with any DLC.
  • Shattered Horizons: A multiplayer first-person shooter...in zero gravity. I have not played this much because it made me slightly dizzy, but you can indeed float through space or walk on any surface. Nicely atmospheric as well; if your suit loses power for some reason, you lose the ability to hear anything other than your footsteps and your own weapon (slightly muted).

Both of these games are on Steam. To enter, let me know which game you would like and include your favorite science-fiction franchise, writer, video game, whatever. I will be doing the drawing sometime tomorrow afternoon, using random.org. Sorry, but escaped lunatics (and I WILL be checking) are not allowed.

Good luck, everyone!
