It just occurred to me that if Hopson doesn't get a nice source of ranged attack, things could turn a bit troubling on the next level.
My votes for Clockwork Knight I guess, to close the distance on the casters and whatnot.
He does have an artifact crossbow and a variety of bolts, but they aren't terribly effective and I tend to forget to use them :(

I will actually back up smithing now. A level of smithing a floor seems like a decent rate.
Oops. Um...next level? I started this nearly an hour ago :P

It was close, but Demonology wins! Now Hopson shall continue his adventures.

We find a room full of Enraged Diggles. These guys are physically tougher than normal diggles, and can go berserk to further increase their damage. Best to take them on in small doses.

Like so. Hopson is pretty lucky here; most passageways in the dungeon are three squares wide.

Our new ability triggers during the battle. Not exactly helpful, but it does allow Hopson to deal his first non-slashing damage: radiant.

Oh great, these things. They can cast spells, teleport through walls on occasion, and prefer to run away rather than fight in close combat. I guess you could say that they're pretty fly...

I'm sorry :(

To distract from the terrible jokes, have a mummy. Surprisingly easy to kill, though they like to curse you periodically.

Those accursed Canadians have discovered cloning technology! These guys can be substantially dangerous, especially the named mini-boss variety seen here. They have lots of health and deal enough toxic and acidic damage to hurt Hopson through his resistances. I'm forced to scarf down some delicious parmigiano and launch the rocket-fist to survive.

This is a mod item. I have no idea what it does, and I'm terrified to find out.

Screw wights. Seriously. Those pools of blood are from two consecutive ice bolts, and now it cursed me. ROCKET. PUNCH.

Praise the gods! We found ourselves a Horadric Lutefisk Cube! You remember lutefisk, right? This thing serves as a handy storage for all of your lutefisk. Know why?

Because any item that you drop into the cube turns into a single piece of lutefisk, of course! It's like a trashcan, but it actually gives you stuff in return. Indispensible if you have a lot of junk filling your inventory but you can't find a store to sell it.
Skål!

I'm pretty sure this is a mod item. Jeez. Hopefully it won't burn down my house.

Ah, Floor 2's first Inconsequentia Shrine. This time, the goddess wants us to find an item that is being guarded by the 28th Cohort. Challenge accepted.

Why can't I find any decent, non-staff artifacts? I'd kill for an artifact axe right about now, for some damage variety.

And before I even realize it, Hopson hits level 6! What new ability should he take?

I'm torn between alliance, rebel, imperial or cybrid though.

Which do y'all like better?

Shame I couldn't find the cybrid one I really like... but that one isn't bad.
Ooh, what are these from? I like the yellow spinning one.

How resource-heavy is CamStudio as opposed to FRAPS? I'd love to record some video Let's Plays, but FRAPS rendered even simple games virtually unplayable thanks to slowdown.

It's because he's made several posts in this and other threads about how awesome Belgium is in every way, and now he sees that Belgium is no better or worse than other places. It's a shock.

32662
Well, this looks cool :o

Have you watched the video I posted? The protesters were trying to go through a subway station, the police waited for the subway to arrive, told the driver to keep the door locked and charged the protesters.
It's hard to understand what's going on if you can't understand the language :(

Worlds of Ultima is free on GoG.
Sweet! Two more old games that I've never heard of, absolutely free! :D

Google maps.

(Zoom out for another surprise!)
Looks like something went wrong with that photograph/whatever the hell Google uses to make these maps.

We get the same thing here in the States. People pretending to be politically correct will go on about "creeping Sharia" and other such nonsense.

Dad chose to go to Chili's for Father's Day dinner. Everything was perfect. I mean everything. Soft drink mixed properly, tortilla chips hot and crunchy, salad fresh, main course cooked to perfection. Awesome time.

Welcome back to the Dungeon! Hopson is about to take his first step on Floor 2!

Floor 2 has a strong catacombs vibe. Many of the monsters here reflect that theme. Thankfully, this area looks pretty peaceful.

Ah, our first variant of Blobby. This is a Toxiblobby, which as the name implies deals toxic damage. Thankfully, we've got some resistance, so the fight isn't very hard. However, sometimes their attak can spawn a cloud of toxic gases that deal damage just by standing in it, so be prepared to move from your current spot.

Pulling the lever from the first image opens a hidden passageway and reveals Hopson's first lockpicks. These are very useful, allowing us to open locked chests without the risk of destroying the contents via smashing. Successfully unlocking something also give us some experience.

We've seen these guys before, but this is when they "officialy" start showing up. Deth rarely misses and deals necromantic damage. Zombys are practically no threat at this point, though they are resistant to many kinds of damage and deal putrifaction damage in return. Hopson is probably the first character I've played that can resist both at this point. Pretty awesome, and makes for a somewhat easy battle.

A second variety of blobby, the Electroblobby. They deal voltaic damage. Still easy to kill.

Killing a deth earns us Level 5! Better cut this update short so we can pick a new ability.

Y'know, in some parts of the world, bugs are eaten and considered a delicacy. In other places, they are eaten as snackfood.

And properly-cooked shrimp are AMAZING.
