There's a reason most people see the ark story as non-literal; it's entirely impossible with any size boat.
That's not true. You could theoretically build a boat capable of hosting two instances of every living species, it would just be the largest boat ever made and would be a completely impractical waste of resources that would most likely end up sinking anyway.
Keep in mind though, that the Ark would have been made entirely of wood. We have discovered the upper limit for a wooden boat; it was smaller than most cruise liners, was steel-reinforced, and was only stable at anchor.
Who says it had to be one solid object? Could've been like, 50,000 rafts tied together.
That would work if the Bible didn't provide dimensions for the Ark's construction (including height, IIRC), which was, again, smaller than most cruise ships. Checkmate.

Fake Edit: Alway kinda beat me to it.

Oh yesss. Just arrived at Storm's End. The game informs me that there is one hour delay, though.

Now heading to Torrents Breath.
Yeah, travel times can vary by up to three hours in either direction. All it really means is that your trip took 4 hours instead of 3.

I would avoid Torrent's Breath. That's enemy territory. Try Norrdir or something instead, unless you can see from scout reports that TB is empty.

Heck, I'm still stuck on Medieval II.

I liked the art style of that one a lot better than the current ones, maybe that's just me?
I wouldn't really know. I'm just stuck because A) Can't play the newer games in the series and B) Still haven't beaten TW:MII

Travel only happens twice per day, at 9am and pm server time. When the next turn begins, you'll move and use your hours.

Speaking of alcohol! Napoleon Total war is $9.99 you know, for the people who are interested in it and haven't moved on to shogun: fall of the samurai yet.
Heck, I'm still stuck on Medieval II.

Because the pastor says that the Bible says that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, and the pastor says that the Bible says that the Bible is 100% factual and accurate. Thus, evolution is a liberal Satanic conspiracy and a sign of the Anti-Christ.

I think I hit all the stereotypes there :P

Not to mention that the fortifications in Nifel have been completely wrecked. Yes, it will be a pain in the ass to rebuild, but it also means that a counter-attack will be far more successful.

That's why we will fight to the bitter end. It's the dwarfy thing to do, but it also fits my character :)

Duck and Cover! it is! There are too many exclamation points in the previous sentence!

Hopson finds a bunch of Stone Bolts in a barrel. These deal a reasonable amount of damage and force enemies back. Useful.

...yep.

A Blobby is kind enough to demonstrate our new skill. At the temporary cost of a little speed and attack power, we gain crushing resistance, piercing resistance, and boosts to stubbornness, armor absorption, block chance, and health regeneration. At this point we're gaining a health point every other round. Can easily be a life-saver in the right situations.

Nice treasure room here. An extra pair of striped pants, lots of food and drink, and a new crafting recipe (using tinkering, unfortunately.

Da fuq?

It is at this point that I realize that this is the commander of the 79th Platoon, which I had spent the last minute or so slaughtering in the other room off-screen. Oops.
Well, it's a fish walking on land. How hard can it be?

That's probably the most Hopson's been hit for so far O_o
It's a hard-fought battle, and Hopson loses about half his health. But finally, he prevails!

...First a cooking pot, now a broom. Ugh. Hope Brax likes household products.

:o
Found this in a bookcase. Hopson has one bar of gold already, two more and a belt will be enough.

Hardy har har :P

Spoiler: Large Image (click to show/hide)

A quick bit of exploration later...we're done with the first floor! The only thing left up here is an anvil of Krong, which we can use now or save for later. Next time, Hopson faces new challenges and dangers on Floor 2 of the Dungeons of Dredmor!

To all those who keep saying that Amalie and some others ran like hell;

Amalie asked me (Antierre, viscount of Hvergelmir) to switch my allegiance to her duchy before she switched. The queen was wounded, so I assumed it was for some valid reason. I thought we still had a chance at fighting off Morek. In the next five minutes, I got the message that we defected to Astrum. Near as I can tell, the plan was to switch the allegiance of every territory of Summerdale except Nifelheim so that Summerdale would survive. That didn't go through very well, but you guys seem to be doing well on your own. I just wish we could help you now without starting a war with Astrum. Maybe we will switch back some day, and when that happens, I hope that Amalie can defend her actions as well as my honor.

Good luck, Dalians.
Thanks for the support :D

I do wish there had been an opportunity for discussion before the sudden and drastic changeover, or some warning, or something. I wonder how keeping Nifelheim as the only Dalian region would save it ... I feel like I'm missing something obvious there.

How are things in Astrum? I can't go there because my religion isn't compatible :P
I don't see how we could possibly keep all the nobles we have now if we're stuck with just Nifelheim.

I fear that the all-cheater games will be the most entertaining, though.
Watch a bunch of aimbots shooting at invincible noclipers? Doesn't sound fun to me :/

Joined as Wulfgar Erhardt to assist the Summerdale, but mistakenly/foolishly pick the wrong place (Storm's Keep) to start my character.

Currently rushing to Nifelheim, I hope I can still help out.
Make sure that you set your unit to evasive under Orders->Unit Settings. That should give you a chance to slip past enemy troops.

I have just learned of a new X-Com game.  A...strategy X-Com game.  I shed a tear of joy.

I mean, this is probably old news to most people, since it was apperantly announced months ago, but whenever, I heard people talking about that 'new x-com game' I always assumed they were talking about the FPS that the bigwigs thought needed a recognizable name.  But no, this time I hear words like, turns, and sectoid...

So I look it up on youtube and I'm so happy... I don't know what to say.  It's like fate brought me to this, because I have recently been playing the old X-Com games again.
Yes, it is old news, this is 'the new (good) xcom game'. But its still a happy, and theres also Xenonauts for you to look at too.
This is a very big happy. I. AM. SO. EXCITED.
We have a thread in the Other Games forum, if you haven't been there already :)

"My giant manta ray comes to smash you in the name of peace and harmony."

There we go.
It's actually a pretty good strategy.
