I'd never heard of it before. There are a lot of strange associations that meet at this library, looking at the schedule. An association of atheists isn't something I'd think of as existing commonly.
Why not? Atheists are a minority in the United States and other countries. Having a network of support in your local area can provide simple companionship, especially if everyone else you know is religious.

I painted my Blood Angels all the same when I was just starting out. When I came back years later, with more experience and a steadier hand, I decided to repaint them all. And I found a lot of new ideas coming into my head while I was doing so, like creating battle damaged armor by carving little slices into the shoulder pads and leg armor with an exacto knife. Even if units are all painted the same, even if they're the ones you can't pose, you can still add a lot of diversity to the look of the army with a few simple touches.
+1 (again)

Hell, dab some bloody wounds onto a Force-Commander's face.
Guardsmen? Give them different skin tones.
Orks? Attach bits of the plastic frame the models came on to make "bitz".
Chaos? Cut off a CM's arm. Attach an Ork arm. Call it a mutation.

* Do correct me if I'm wrong as to the purpose of these videos. If it's solely about jerks and not just people who don't conform to social norms (as much as they exist on the internet), then my soapboxing has been entirely for naught!
If there's one thing I hate more than children starving in Africa while The Man grows fat and wealthy...it's soapboxing!

I saw it too. That's a thing of beauty, I just hope that I can have a similar game once in my life.
YOu could try the save file the guy posted.
Don't have CivII :P
Besides, I want MY eternal war. Not someone else's.

While this thread is breaching the forum surface like the modest dolphin it is, what exactly is the situation regarding Asylon and everyone else? I have a noble in Astrum, but he's not a member of Sanguis Astroism so he probably misses out on a lot of the political stuff. Is there some kind of stand-off? I'm kinda hoping for a long, drawn out war of some kind to hurl men into :)
Basically, everyone hates Summerdale. Folks in Summerdale aren't too happy about it.

Why on Earth Terra were you painting a bunch of guys identically, though?

Just about every army (aside from possibly the Necrons) could be painted in a variety of ways. I'm planning to have each squad color-or-pattern-coded, and of course you can pose them differently.

Attention everyone on Dwilight:

Go nuts  8)

Woah, hey guys, I hope we're all still being pals here.

Let's not start giving out too much in-game positioning information that may or may not be available through regular channels. I don't think the BM GMs would look too kindly on our community if we started driving up tons of metagaming. :(
Any neighboring realms that haven't been scouting and know that Morek/Libero isn't at home has grown complacent. This is a golden opportunity for the minor realms that could never stand up to them alone and it would really shake up the the island.

But fine. In the spirit of fair play, I will take out the positioning of the enemy armies.

The only thing GWS I spend money on these days are the fiction novels.
Gotta admit, there have been some damn fine novelists working with the lore.

The Horus Heresy line of novels are LOVE.
I've been looking at those (the nearest bookstore has a decent selection), but I hold off because I'm not sure which one is the "first" one. I hate reading a book and realizing that I'm coming in half-way through the series D:

Right now though, my favorite is Ciaphas Cain (HERO OF ETC). Actual, complex, human characters? Without being totally grimdark? IN 40K?! More likely than you think.

Welcome back! The voices in Hopson's head (the majority of them, anyway) tell him to place his mummified ring on the anvil as an offering to Krong. He steps up, whispers a few reverential words, and lays it down.

Success! Krong is pleased with the gift and blesses the ring with voltaic resistance! Hopson slips the ring back onto his finger with a word of thanks.

With his backpack rapidly filling up, Hopson heads back to Brax's shop to sell some of the less useful items.
Nearly 3000 zorkmids later, his inventory is considerably lighter. I use some of the money to buy him a pair of Fabulously Striped Pants, which increase dodge and block ability. Better than running around in his underwear.

He's looking pretty well kitted out now. Could use some more damage though. Time to resume exploration in the meantime.

Another store...sadly not really anything worth buying (that we could afford). Moving on.

Hey, a potion of healing! Unlike most items/spells, these give you roughly 20 HP in an instant, perfect for getting out of any tight spots later. Hopson grabs it.
He finds a second one in the next room :D

Found this bad boy in what appears to be a jail cell. Hopson swaps it for Varval, as this one deals more piercing damage plus some blasting damage.

We find some enraged diggles in another jail cell. There doesn't appear to be any way to open the door, and we don't have any teleportation moves. Lucky day, dudes.

Ah-ha! Just gotta bring this to the Eyeball Shrine.

It turned into a...???
Whatever. Time for a reward!

...thanks for nothing, Inconsequentia.
So anyway, I'm in the middle of slaying some monsters...

...when that happens. We need a new ability, folks!

You should have lifted off after the blaster bomb and saved your last two dudes. :/

Ah well!
Didn't care. I was on a suicidal rampage at the point anyway :P

Tempted to go Hero and die gloriously. On the other hand, character is doing pretty awesome so far and would be sad to see it die.

I always stopped playing before very long, so I only ever fought Chrysalids once. I had just shot down a large UFO and sent my good team in to clean up the mess. Very flat terrain, daylight. I approach the target and see Snakemen. I shoot one or two, when suddenly it's alien raep.

Determined to try to survive this mission, I pull everyone back to the Skyranger, arrange them in a firing line, and go nuts with reaction fire. It works...until I also get my first look at a blaster bomb and lose all but two dudes. I have the survivors charge into the UFO, gunning down snakemen and chrysalids until more blaster bombs finish them off.
