Other Games / Re: Games you wish existed
« on: June 14, 2012, 01:02:56 am »
I wish there was a game with really low graphics and low system requirements set in the Warhammer 40K universe.
Have you tried--
That's free.
Never mind...

I have joined the avatar bandwagon, as it were. I think this is my first forum where I actually added one  8)

Play With Your Buddies / Re: Let's Play X-Pony: Bronies Unknown
« on: June 14, 2012, 12:40:58 am »
...Screw it. I'm joining in; this is just too flippin' bizarre not to :P

Someone give me a pony-ish name, I don't know anything about the series.

ETA: I'll take Whitestar (thanks, New Guy!)

Is that cherry pie-looking thing and the orange slice in the food pic from a mod or part of the new Xpack I haven't seen yet?
Not entirely sure. I basically added all of the DLCs and mods at the same time - until YHTNTEP and Steam Workshop support was released, my game was pure vanilla :/

What's the name of the website where you can upload multiple images and cycle them for your avatar/whatever?
Apparently, there are a few of them, but I use signavatar.com.
Coolio, thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.
« on: June 14, 2012, 12:02:10 am »
My dad comes out ahead almost every time he goes to a casino. I went with him one time, and he came out five minutes later and $300 richer. Some people seem uncanny at beating the odds, no matter how mathematically unlikely.
My brother is like that. We'll both go in holding $20. Within an hour, I'll be broke, and he'll have $100.
seems there are a few of us that defy the laws of mathematics.
Or are secretly counting cards. Its damn difficult by the way.
Could be plain ordinary luck. I walked into a casino shortly after I turned 21, came out $30 richer. I haven't the slightest idea how to count cards.

This is less of a "I am surprised" what the fuck, and more of a "What the fuck humanity" what the fuck.

Kickstarter Video Project Attracts Misogynist Horde
Ah, youtube. Where intelligent comments go to die horrible, godwin-induced, cheeto fueled neckbeard death.
I thought that was Yahoo!

OK, So basically it would be a theater project to act out a summoning ritual, rewards would be like:

$1 have your name listed on stock paper
$10 have your name hand written
$25 have your name written in fine calligraphy, and receive a download of the video of the ceremony (if survived)
$100 have your name, and optionally that of a loved one  written upon gilt parchment in fine squid ink, get a DVD of the ceremony (if survived)
$5000 have you name tattooed (in small letters, not extra long gaga names please) upon the virgin offering. (*cough* me *cough*) and 2 DVDs

The Diety? Cthulhu. The Request? To be eaten first when he comes to devour all.
This sounds scammy to me. Just saying :|
Like those pay-per-month services that will send a message to your loved ones after you get raptured.
I should totally set one of those up.
I'd be a terrible carny. I'd just feel bad taking money from the gullible.

Let us continue the adventure of Hopson! He becomes an Ingoteer and grows slightly stronger and more skilled.

Ah, a glorious bounty! A whole room full of magnificent lutefisk! Lutefisk, in real life, is basically fish paste and popular in Norway. In-game, it's the worst healing item possible. Why do I like it? We'll find out later.

Hopson finds this laying randomly on the floor. 2 toxic and 1 necromantic resistance is nothing to sneeze at, even if we lose our tiny amount of radiance resistance. Hopson puts it on.

Remember those bolts that Hopson learned how to make? Found some near the mummy ring. Deals a respectable amount of damage while drawing struck enemies closer to us.

Found our first mushrooms in a chest. These Odious Puffballs become throwing weapons that confuse their targets. Could be useful.

PRAISE ARMOK...er, I mean KRONG! These anvils will turn any one piece of equipment into an artifact, imbuing it with all sorts of extra powers...unless Krong is displeased with you.
Since the anvil can only be used once, and we're still using newbie equipment, I pass it up for now.

Couple new fungi here. The purplish one is Lobstermane, and it helps us take more physical damage for a while. The other is Azure Mob-Bonnet, which increases our magic power.
The odd bronze thing partially hidden behind the table is an Uber Chest (tm), and requires a lever somewhere on this floor to be pulled. They usually contain valuable artifacts, and so it is worth hunting for the proper lever.

Ah mah gawd. Food, booze, a second Uber Chest (tm), an icicle wand, a couple of normal chests, a bookcase, a lever, and that Eyeball Shrine we needed for the quest. Shame that we don't yet have the proper item, but that's half the quest over.
There's also a fountain here. We can drink from it, but the effect is totally random. Could be a buff, could be poison, could refil our health or mana. Risky business.

Found this in the bookcase. It's basically a double-bladed clockwork chainsaw-axe. Shame that we didn't take tinkering :(

Pull the lever...and the Uber Chest (tm) opens up!

A quick check shows that, aside from the decreased speed and magic power, it is superior to Hopson's current shield, and even throws in increased health regeneration to boot! He quickly equips it.

Another Inconsequentia shrine. This one wants us to wipe out Dredmor's 79th Platoon, the Enormous Vessels, and kill their leader. Hapson, of course, agrees.

While hunting for the 79th Platoon, Hopson finds another Anvil of Krong. This time however, Hopson has some metal bars. Time to put that smithing skill to good use and craft some artifact-worthy equipment!

First, some Bronze Greaves to replace the flip-flops that he's currently wearing.

Second, a Rough Iron Axe to replace the Stone-Age-tech weapon.

Now...what should he offer to Krong?

Viking strike. Cant truly expect to live long enough to be able to smith some of the good stuff. May as well live it up while we can.

Edit: The tiebreaker just got tied.
Already started playing and picked, sorry :(

32788
dangit, now how do I persuade my dad to do that? D:
Do you have cash? Go to the bank, buy a pre-paid debit card, buy stuff. Easy as pie!

32789
He has a game? o_O

Can I have a linky? I must have missed it the first time around.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dhagar/cult-awakening-of-the-old-ones

im throwing $50 cause i actually know the guy from somewhere
This may be the first Kickstarter that I actually back O_o
Not just because the guy's a Bay Watcher, but because it looks pretty cool.

I'm going to vote for smithing, hopefully we'll live long enough to make good use out of it.
I am going with Viking strike. I've always liked those passive "chance for a better attack" things.
WE NEED A TIEBREAKER!
