I think you're supposed to use binoculars/telescope to point at the sun, then project the image on paper. That works too, but you need a tripod or something to keep it steady and we don't have one <_<
Yea, you really dont wanna be doing that, even with filters. The risk isnt the filters failing, but in taking the binoculars away from your eyes without first pointing your eyes away from the Sun. Pinhole cameras can do quite nice tricks though.I made the family a bunch of pinhole cameras for the eclipse. Here's hoping they work!
That's not goodWikipedia is about to blind quite a few people then :pIf by "safe" you mean "your eyes will suffer permanent damage", then yes. You need special filters to view the sun, and even then there's some risk.Solar eclipse today in Eastern Asia/Western North America! Who's excited?I'm looking forward more to the passing of venus. Anyone know if any generic binoculars will let you view the sun safely?

That's the movie version. The original novel has the Mobile Infantry running around in mech suits each capable of taking on the bugs 100 to 1.Would be cool if this is set in space, like Starship Troopers. So your main weapon would be laughably ineffective against your enemies and you'd have to spend hours training knife throwing for the one time in the game it's useful?
Yeah, but I didn't think it would be quite so bad. Dude can't even complete tavern contracts right now thanks to this. That 119 damage I mentioned up there? A contract that offered a measly 1 gold as a reward. He's pretty much useless until the sickness wears off, and in the meantime someone else could fight and kill/wound him again.I like the game, but it seems really pay-to-win. I'm fighting arena matches where half of the other dude's equipment is purple, which as far as I can tell requires trophies, which are easiest to get by paying real money. Luckily, I won with basic equipment
Level 6 Human Theatrics fighter named Arrakis. 8 wins, 5 losses, 0 kills. Everything is basic equipment (gladius) and light armor except for some mystical shield I picked up. 183rd in the amateur rankings. Go team Bloody Templars!
EDIT: Okay, what the hell. I wandered over to the arena to fight some more. Surprise! Arrakis is dead. Bull. Freaking. Crap.
EDIT2: Revived Arrakis, got into another fight against a level 3 dude carrying only a newbie broadsword. Arrakis got annihilated; didn't land a single decent blow while something around 75% of the other dude's hits are red or orange. Now he has a serious wound to his weapon arm and I'm already considering dropping this game. I can't think of a single reason he could have lost that fight, but lose it he did.
They mention something about resurrection sickness for 24 hours after being revived. It's very likely that's why Arrakis wasn't performing as well as he should have.

Just as long as you had five bucks for the entry feeWent to a chocolate festival today. Had a delicious milkshake and my favorite carnival food ever, and brought home some fresh rocky road for the family. Best part was that I spent the day with friends.
I can picture just seeing the words "Chocolate Festival" on a banner or something, and then just instinctively going into it regardless of what I was doing beforehand.
