That's me right now :P

It's all interesting stuff, but the fact is that a lot of sci-fi will Hand Wave stealth in somehow. The softer the sci-fi, the crazier it will become. We don't know if Notch will include stealth or not, but if he does it will be for fun, not realism, and I personally do not have a problem with that.

For that matter, why use two holiday figures that mostly resonate as Christian? That'll turn off all the Muslims, Hindus, and other religious folks. Perhaps Santa can run with Kwanzabot or something.

If you shut down in orbit around a planet, you're in orbit. Turning off your engines wouldn't make you plummet towards the ground. And it's possible that some debris is large enough to hide in/behind. If your ship matches the velocity of the debris, you're in no real danger.

Now, there are ways of maneuvering slightly that don't involve engines. Perhaps you could vent some compressed gas into space, slightly altering your trajectory. I've also read some sci-fi stories that used gyroscopes or something to make fine movements. In space, those tiny changes can create a very large area to keep in eye on, if we're still under the assumption that a stealthed ship is untrackable.

And yes, that's the risk of stealth; if you get caught, you're probably dead. In fact, you were probably dead anyway. Stealth isn't (and shouldn't be) an "I win, lol you fail" button, but a last chance to evade detection.

Metamateriel can't make an invisibility cloak. They can only catch and redirect, you're still struck with the radiation detection. You cant make something perfectly insulated and perfectly energy efficient. You're going to bleed heat eventually.
"Eventually" being the key word here. What if stealth systems could only operate for short periods of time before the entire ship risked over-heating?

Scenario: One player is being chased by another. The chasee maneuvers around a planet or into some sort of debris field, and activates the stealth system while shutting everything else down. The chaser has a few options:
A: He continues hunting for the chasee, potentially finding the person but risking the chasee slipping away.
B: He stops and waits for the chasee to deactivate stealth and continue running. The chasee could potentially get away if the chaser stops paying attention, is caught by surprise, or
C: The chaser decides "hell with this" and goes away.

I have a hard time siding with South Park on this one. I've known a few Mormons, all generally very nice, clean living people. But if you believe something that is totally absurd, I've got to ask: do you act on those beliefs? Otherwise what do your beliefs mean? What about supporting a religious corporation based around those beliefs?

I'm willing to accept Mormons as Christian (not like I ultimately care since I'm not one), but there are things in their belief system that don't even come close to squaring with reality. And that's an issue the church needs to address.
Sorry, but that's hardly unique to Mormonism. Every religion has some bizarre facets that don't agree with reality.

After utterly demolishing a fourth-level monster zoo with high-end pyromancy and a three-pronged sword, getting killed by a couple of giant eels was a more than a little embarrassing. So long Brow, you magnificent bastard you.

Have they ever explained what Latinum is exactly?

I know the basics... but I am under the impression that Latinum is used for nothing but trade.
From what I understand, it's valuable because it cannot be replicated like pretty much any other element/compound. Therefore, it has real scarcity.

Yeah I get that basic. It cannot be replicated and they collect it from nebulas.

But what is it used for? Is it purely scarcity factor like how Diamonds will probably still be more popular then perfected manifactured diamonds inspite of being supperior in everyway?
That's pretty much it, though at least diamonds have some practical use. Latinum is more like poker chips; worthless except to the people who want it.

Also, I'm glad to find out that the Japanese word for Banana is バナナ, pronounced Banana.
Banana is banana pretty much everywhere though.
Pretty much everwhere. Image related.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The Spanish word is probably derived from plantains, those cousins of bananas.

The face of a desperate man.

This is the best best video.
I feel sorry for him. But I can't stop laughing.
Eh, it felt somewhat staged to me :|
"Hey, there's some spiders in my bathroom! Let me slather shaving cream on my face and act hysterical, that'll be good for a laugh!"

I'm not even sure what he means by "the intro is all fixed". What? I've never seen the same terrain twice in the starting area, and it is entirely possible to be trapped by tall mountains on either side until you build some wooden platforms.
