Speaking of fast-forward buttons, I'd like to shake the hand of whoever pioneered emulator and ROM development. Shady though the practice may be, it's the only real way to get a lot of classics that either are highly expensive and rare or simply don't work anymore. Heck, I recently discovered that the battery in my cartridge of Pokemon Ruby had died, cutting me off from time-specific events and mons forever. In older games, a dead battery meant no saves, ever. Someday soon, emulators will be the only way to play the classics.

Anyway, I joined Summerdale as Mehga Mann. I hope I don't look like an idiot.

I'm afraid that kind of name is not appropriate for Dwilight.  Please read the Wiki article on Serious Medieval Atmosphere, which is enforced on Dwilight. Silly names are one of the biggest things that are discouraged under SMA.

If you don't mind deleting the account and creating a new one, you can do that, or if you prefer, you can request a name change, which is under the Politics menu. You'll have to make separate requests for the character name and the family name.

Or, if you really prefer to keep that name, you can delete the character on Dwilight, and re-create it on another continent (you can't emigrate the character to another continent for two weeks after creation).
Could I report an enemy unit's name? They have the atmosphere-breaking (and rather juvenile) name "Dumberfail".

To be fair, a JP in Sol could theoretically lead to a system on the other side of the galaxy.
True. Real distance doesn't matter so much in this or similar games.

Things I appreciate (very subjective list):

An engaging story. I don't find cliches as horrible or boring as some people do. If the events in a game make me want to stay awake another hour to find out what happens next, it gets a gold star. Winners: Portal, Half-Life, Mass Effect, Fortune Summoners, Katawa Shoujo.

Solid voice acting. Some games don't need any more than text, but good emoting can really immerse me in a title and help me connect to the characters. Winners: Portal, Mass Effect, Modern Warfare.

Complex strategy. Something better than "spam heavy tank" or "use overpowered hero". If I'm forced to think creatively and several steps ahead, both in attack and defense, it's good. Winners: Fire Emblem, Supreme Commander, Hitman.

A creative/unique setting. Something that makes me want to play just because of the oddity and possible self-referential humor. Winners: Jamestown, Recettear, Phoenix Wright.

Memorable/catchy music. Humming along to a song that I haven't heard in quite some time is a good thing. Winners: Many, but Mario is one of the most iconic and Iji has some epic boss tunes.

Finally, a real sandbox. A lot of people say that GTA and similar games are sandboxes, despite the fact that there are frequently invisible walls, static geometry, and all these games later the primary mechanic is still stealing cars and shooting people. Winners: Minecraft, Terraria, Aurora, and of course, Dwarf Fortress.

That's why I said it usually wasn't a smart idea :P

But that's the idea here. Nobles have special powers and privileges, adventurers have a few unique abilities but that is it.

L4D 1 or 2?
It sounded more like Killing Floor to me.
Could be any of the above. Or something else entirely.

So it seems someone wanted me arrested in Terran. Either someone who saw me as competition in a region, or something else. Derp.
Your betters need not give reason to arrest such a commoner as yourself.
Still, arresting your own citizens isn't exactly going to make you look 'Better'.
That's how it was in the Middle Ages. Nobles were better, and that is that. Sure, going around and massacring your subjects probably wasn't the best idea, but there wasn't much to stop you from doing so.

Go ahead, send me to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life, etc etc etc. It's what I signed up for, after all.

I play on a crappy laptop that has a hard time handling Half-Life 2 :P

Thing is, using the emulator's built-in recording method gives frame-perfect playback most of the time. I wish I could play the whole game at these speeds.

If the video doesn't want to load right away, give it some time. Not sure how long it takes for it to process, but if there are any problems I'll try re-uploading tomorrow.

I'm a guy :P

I say, let the eager young officers go off to war and die. I'll be in the history books and have colleges and streets and shit named after me. Being a peace officer may be a little dull, but it has its perks :D

Had my first Thai food today from a local hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Main dish was some curry-seasoned chicken on kebabs, rice on the side. It was actually really good considering that just one person was working there, and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
