Ideally it will only record when you tell it to. I don't really see this as any different than what smart phones already do. Yeah, it's somewhat easy to accidentally record your actions/location/whatever with those already and this would make it even more convenient for you to do something silly, if you're careful, then it's really not any worse than what we're already dealing with.

It's not the technology so much that makes it bad, although the companies make it way too easy to do bad things with them. It's just that people need a lesson in what exactly is private information. If social networking has taught us one thing, it's that people tend to be blabber mouths, they want to talk about everything and anything and if you give them an outlet that even presumably is being listened to, then they'll tell everything.

Yeah, it can be kinda scary how much of ourselves we're putting out there, but honestly, this... sort of thing, at least... is what I've been dreaming of for years. Personally, I was hoping for a terminal prompt and a (virtual?*) keyboard, but the times they are a changing in this touch screen world.

*Yeah, I wanted to be one of those idiots that would stand there staring off into space typing on absolutely nothing. To me, at least, it seems a lot less silly than talking to yourself. "Tell me how to get to George's deli." and people looking at you funny when they think you're asking them out of nowhere. Even when they've been around for years now, bluetooth headsets still seem a bit odd and confusing if someone walks by talking and I'm not sure who they're talking to.
This. It's not like these glasses (or the contact lenses the article theorizes in a hilariously paranoid manner) are mandatory, always-on, or surgically implanted. Doing something you don't want accidentally recorded? Take them off, shut them down, and do whatever you're gonna do.

ETA: Or you could just, I don't know, not buy them, Levi. If you don't want a computer that looks like a bad sci-fi prop, don't get it. Simple.

YES. Let the agony commence! Mwahahahahahaha!

I just saw Iron Sky at the cinema. It was glorious.

Iron sky? What's it about?

I thought everybody had seen the trailer.
Thoughts on the trailer:
Oh god, alien movie.
Wait, marching guys in gasmasks?
Is... is that a swastika?
Moon Nazis. Wat.
Space zeppelins. Do want.
Ooh, big gun.
I dunno who the (Texan?) president is, but I think I like her.
So. Moons Nazis. I wanna see this.

Just waiting for them to bust out the Mahjong the entire time.
Now that you mention it, it does sound suspiciously like a Koizuma plot...

This game almost gives off a Shores of Hazeron feel.
Except for lack of multiplayer, ship design, species design, wildlife, colonizing, city building... :P

Mostly yanking your chain. I'm hoping that Pioneer includes all of this in the future, and hopefully by that time I'll have a computer that can actually run this.

No need to feel like an ass. I'm mostly running off of memory myself. You'd be surprised at how often I have to re-write stuff because I had forgotten how one event or another played out :P

For instance, when I invaded Balik's base? I had a long explanation for melee combat written up and ready to go, because that's what I was expecting. Then I actually played that section and there was no combat to be found. Boy was my face red! XD

This song is depressing :(
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Captain Sparklez has a pretty good team here. Wonder if they'll make any more?

are cheap enough to replace if you lose one.
Not sure what you're talking about here...so far as I remember, ships that lose all of their HP are repaired for free upon entering port :-\
I lose one, I lost it. I think only story-class ships are able to come back after being nuked. Reason I farmed early-game with the Daisy as my front line.
???
brbtesting

ETA: I'm not seeing it. First I intentionally lost the LOTUS. It returned at the next port, free of charge. Then I switched the flagship to the DAISY and lost both the LOTUS and the PANSY. Both returned, free of charge. I don't ever recall this happening in my hard copy of the game either, which is a good thing considering how much damage can get thrown around in the later game. A full fleet with a good barrage can one-shot just about any of the player's ships, especially during boss battles. Making ship loss permanent would result in hours of grind that could be undone if a random encounter managed to get some good shots in.

Yeah, we've got, what, two subscription MMOs still alive?  WoW is slowly bleeding and I'm not sure how well Rift is doing.  They can't seriously hope to pull that off.

Don't forget EVE Online... which notch's game will hopefully break my addiction from with any luck!
If anything, EVE is growing. Of course, it does have a certain addictive ruthlessness to it that WoW and other MMOs seem to lack.

-carrier/fighter stuff-
That's basically how I did it, though with a few differences. Of course, there's no rule stating that way has to be our way.

And from what I heard, I think you can go the whole game with the Borodino-class in your fleet since the first time you get the blueprint. Consider that a challenge as well.
But why would we want to do that when there are so many more awesome ships to buy? :P

Charmander is suicide on the first gym, and without a pokemon center? Well..
Exactly my point :P

or getting a butterfree with confusion(which is not a guaranteed win anyway).
If I remember correctly, there are no Butterfree in Red version. Again, that's why I picked it.

If ed boy wants a challenge, he might as well get a REAL challenge >:]

Weird, one book called something like 'Handbook of Contagious Diseases' gave me the impression that lockjaw was a swift, painful death... xD
I'm sure it is, if you don't get treatment :|

Red version, starting with Charmander. Player name Blu, rival name Yella. Charmander's name is Meatshield.

Hmm, what's with all the sci-fi games with hard to pronounce/read names? First VVVVVVV, and now this! I feel like there is something else that is slipping my mind, as well.

What is with all the medieval games with craft in their title?
Starcraft is medieval?
