Yeah, I've never really had a problem with clowns. I don't really understand why people are afraid of them; one of my fondest memories is visiting the circus, and the clowns were an integral part of it!

Currently downloading a game at 700kB/s. Considering my average download speed of 20kB/s, this feels like a godsend :D

Bane looks pretty solid. He'll probably be dead soon of course, but such is a commissar's life.

Perfect introduction, by the way  :D

WARNING! This post contains some fairly major spoilers about the next section of the game. If you'd rather experience this as you would by playing along (and not looking up FAQs on the interwebs), ignore this. Part 8: Espionage

Welcome back after a far-to-long hiatus! A quick recap, last time Yuri met the local Elgavan military commanders, and was given a mission to locate Tatiana's older brother, and retrieve some data from him. He was also offered a choice between two destroyer blueprints: the expensive but missile-armed Orfey or the cheaper (thus inferior) Derzky. By unanimous vote, the Orfey will be chosen! Let us continue...

Alright, that's enough for the first update in quite some time. I'm attempting to cut down on the number of screenshots, but I'm not sure if people would rather have more or less. That's question number one for y'all to answer.
Secondly (and far more importantly): Which route shall we take to the pirate's base? The  direct route which is sure to be patrolled by a large number of pirate ships, or the backdoor route which is sure to be a trap? Vote now!

And be sure to tune in, because next time, Yuri and company go into battle against the notorious Novgorod Pirates!

FAKE EDIT: While I'm here, I better explain why missiles are so freaking awesome, despite the PANSY'S missiles having shorter range and weaker firepower than it's single (albeit medium-sized) laser. The reason is that missiles are solid-state weapons, and those are extremely helpful. See, a number of enemy ships (and ours, before very long), can carry deflector mods that add to the ship's armor rating. Lasers therefore do less damage to ships equipped with deflectors. Solid-state weapons, however, pass straight through deflectors, dealing full damage. This will come in handy in the not-to-distant future.

New alpha video today, giving us a glimpse of the pathfinding used. Honestly, it looks good; the AI is able to wall-run and stuff just like the player, and doesn't get caught up on irregularly-shaped objects.

"I'm not paranoid"
"I see Google as a possible end of the world"

Do you really not see the disconnect there?
You're just being misled by Google's impeccable PR. It blinds you to the truth.
Sarcasm?

Er, one step at a time. Let's at least get back to the Moon, maybe set up a sort of semi-permanent habitat up there before we worry about Mars. :P
We've been to the moon at least twice if you count other contries, and the ISS is a kinda-semipermanent habitat. But the only things we have on mars are rovers that continue to rove years after they're supposed to. And broken rovers.
The Moon could be a launchpad/way station for Mars voyages, plus the orbital motion around the Earth could conceivably be used as a sort of booster to make the trip. Honestly, a moon base is the logical first step. I just hope that happens when I'm still young enough to take a vacation up there.

You're not going to vote Gingrich, are you? >.>
HELL no. While I would like a moon base, I recognize that we've got other problems as well. Besides, there's no reason that Gingrich is the only dude who can build a moon base.

iTunes has the exact same crap and they had the market far more cornered not even 10 years ago. Quit being so paranoid.
But Google has EVERYTHING. I'm not really paranoid, or actually worried about this, it's just something interesting to think about. I see Google as a possible end of the world.
