Edit: A small kind of interesting tidbit I just noticed is that they use the euro (€) sign for credits (see the science labs building screen).

I guess they know economics and understand that dollars won't be the only international currency in the world, or whatever.
Maybe it's a regional thing. You build a base in Europe (other than Great Britain or other countries that don't use it), you get paid in euros. You build a base in the US, dollars. Japan, yen. And so on.

"We've took out all the stuff that was not fun. Currency exchange? That's fun."
*ah-hem*

In Fortune Summoners, my party of three pre-teen girls utterly mopped the floor with three Orgs, taking minimal damage and scoring a massive 18-hit combo. The whole thing was over in less than a minute, and since I was wielding Org Slayer

It'll probably take a good five hours to install on this computer, assuming my connection stays good. Dammit :(

Are the sprites supposed to be so "low" on the grass? Shush is actually standing off the circle a little.

Should one play HL1 first?
You can if you want to. Most of the characters you meet in HL2 act like they were in the first game, but really they were just anonymous scientists back in those days. Plus you'll get a slightly better idea of why some of the enemies exist. Other than that, it's basically a different storyline set around 20 years after the first game.

Mary or Marty Sues
Are they the new Jill and John Doe?
No. Are you making a joke?  ???
I just haven't heard those names for a generic person before, usually you call them John or Jill Doe.
Ok, I see your confusion now. A Mary Sue is a character who is, in a word, perfect. Kicks ass, takes names, wins the love interest, becomes ruler of the world, is fabulously wealthy, never makes mistakes, is a super-genius, etc etc. Crops up most commonly in fan-fiction, and there are many sub-varieties, from the Copycat Sue (is pretty much identical to another established character, especially if said character has unique abilities) to the Jerkass Sue (is a total bitch to everyone, everyone loves the character anyway).

Success! Finally!

It's probably longer than it truly needs to be, and I could combine all those final printf statements if I really felt like it, but I don't care!

This one.

And yeah, all it really says is that long double is bigger than double. No explanation of why you should use one or the other, or why numbers seem to approach infinity.

%lf worked. I dunno why, since my book says to use %f for doubles and %lf for long doubles, but it works.

What's worse, the textbook doesn't seem to mention what the difference between the two is.

I dislike using cosmetic items because it just changes the character sprites, not their portraits or anything else.

Am I the only one annoyed at how the partners don't take their items with them, instead dumping them all into the backpack and letting poor Arche carry everything? I can't dump the stuff in a chest, because I usually have no idea when they'll be re-joining me.

I'm not sure if there's a specific way to do that, so I just added another printf statement to display num1.
It gave me the same long-ass number, maybe minus a couple of zeros.

Not sure how 5 translated into a number which possibly outnumbers the stars in the universe, but it did. And I was doing so well on Thursday...
