By "travel cheat", I meant that in most games, Fly's only real purpose is to move you around faster. In Pokemon Quartz, Fly was required to reach the final gym before the Elite 4. Thus, it had an actual purpose. I was thinking that you could use your Syrupleaf digging idea for a similar purpose, and not just a method of fast travel.

Honestly, the rulebook makes no mention of friendly fire. It says "any model or blip", no specifics. I have to assume that the heavy flamer is as deadly to other Terminators as it is to genestealers.

Sounds interesting.

Perhaps make the True Final Dungeon a place that must be dug to, so it's not just a travel cheat? I remember that Pokemon Quartz did something similar.

Depends. The first mission has five marines. The second has five different ones. The third has ten. The last mission has 4. Squad layouts change frequently. Don't worry, each mission will have a briefing to explain everything.

I did this for about a week.  Curiosity got the better of me.  When I started researching it to find out how in the heck grown men could like ponies and unicorns with long eyelashes, I got too interested.  Then I watched an episode, then I watched another.  Then I had a favorite pony.

Ponies have given me my own WTF recently though.  One of the player claimed ponies in one of the community forts got killed recently.  Then the player posted this little thing about the pony going to heaven.  The pony wasn't all that important recently.  It wasn't even that big of a deal, but man, I almost teared up over that.  I could freaking feel it coming.

What have ponies done to me?

Must go shoot something in a video game now to recover some manliness...
Might I suggest gunning down some genestealers?

Librarians don't come in until later missions. Since they have all sorts of extra rules, I'm not gonna worry about it until then.

Oh, I know all that. IIRC, the oldest Space Marine still alive and active is Bjorn the Fell-Handed, a dreadnought in the Space Wolves chapter, who fought alongside the Emperor 10,000 years ago.

There's a bit of interesting contrast though, as one of the "grunts" in this game is just over one hundred years old. And my understanding is that very few Marines last so long anyway. Considering the stuff they have to fight, I'm not surprised!

And yeah, I'm pretty fond of the DoW series. Making a new chapter makes perfect sense to avoid alienating die-hard fans of canon chapters.
