Just saw a bird of prey perched on the back-yard fence. Not sure what kind, but the front is a reddish-brown and the back has white-and-black stripes. Pretty awesome.

This is supposed to be about more than just DF, anyways (At least if I remember what I read on the first page right.)Actually, I kinda like that idea. And since DF already has animal-men (not quite the same thing, I know), it could still fit into a purely DF-centric romhack.
Just my two-cents worth. (Okay, it's probably only worth about 1/2 a cent, but still)

We've only got like 3 warriors. If they show up with dragons (or Lady of the Lake forbid, archers), we'll be slaughtered.
