General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.
« on: December 15, 2011, 02:58:11 am »
Two people on the "how did you last die" thread are having a go at me for requesting that someone should spell out the name of a game because I hadn't heard of it-
not to mention I had better things to do than search every time i didn't know a game.

"TES V. OH WAIT THAT IS TOO OBSCURE; Skyrim."

Very mature. Some people piss me off. Yeah i'm in a foul mood right now.
It's the Internet. If you're expecting every person to be a mature and respectful Yale/Oxford graduate then your expectations are a little high.

Time to let it go.

Downloaded this for kicks...so far I'm not very happy about the quality for a two hour download.

Super Bogus World is utter crap. Not gonna mince words, this thing left my hard drive within ten minutes. Think of the worst flash-based, epilepsy-inducing games you've ever played. Add in annoying sound effects and buggy controls. You're about half-way to the quality of this.

Spino's Dangerous Dungeon is ok, despite a lack of creativity. My problem with it is that it downloaded with a save game, and thus I was thrown into a harder level right off the bat.

NeonPlat Adventures looks and sounds nice, but suffers from lack of instruction. It appears to be multiplayer with a shared keyboard.

Diamond Hallow II is my favorite so far. It looks and plays like a Nitrome title: pixel-y graphics and retro-sounding music and sound.

More to come later.

Later has arrived!

Pixel Slaughter: This one has some potential, though it's very unfinished. Lots of blood and I keep unlocking new weapons and skills though I haven't the slightest idea how to use them.

Next Time I Won't Trust The Man In The White Van crashes instantly. Maybe someone else can get this to work, but for now it's an instant 0/100.

Unnamed Sandbox Game got insta-flagged by my anti-virus software and was removed. Okay...Should anyone else try this game I recommend caution.

Unstopaball is made in Unity, and has some relatively nice 3D effects. It's basically a Marble Madness clone, and needs mouse control instead of using the arrow keys.

Prior is a flash platformer, and works fairly well. You play as a test subject escaping an abandoned facility and gain special powers along the way. You're also a squat black box with one glowing eye, and there appears to be some sort of race war between white boxes and black boxes.

Sens3s is pretty bizarre. You play as a blind person who "sees" with his hands. Objects appear as text describing what the object feels like. I honestly haven't gotten very far, but this is a very creative idea.

Robot Unlock is some sort of puzzle game. I have no idea what to do. Moving on.

The other two games require installation and I'm not doing that tonight. Hopefully one of you guys will give these games a shot, see if you have different experiences than I do.

Wash, sitting across the table, decided to join in the fun.

"Sounds good to me. I'd vote for that."

So the IA is basically a combined force of all sorts of universes?

I can dig it  :D

You know, I had a nagging thought in the back of my mind that someone had already requested Jonic >.<

It's up to you.

35887
Well, that explains a couple of things. I never played the MoO series. So is the IA a Ssaros organization, or human? Or is it a bit like the Council, with several races working together?

I use WinRAR for everything. Hasn't let me down yet.

Well, I assume this is a sort of alternate-universe deal. Looking at the quarian's situation, this is before Commander Shepard becomes ultra-famous and before he meets Tali, and yet the quarians aren't nearly as downtrodden as they are in the game universe. I'm also wondering what the deal is with the Ss'aros or whatever they were called, the ones allied with the quarians.

((I think you'll have to wait for the veterans to come online for those. I just won't post, unless someone starts a conversation))

35891
Aw, I can't fine Varayis for anything. She gave me my fancy uniform :P
I've never met the tank commander, so Wash won't be fining anyone today.

35892
Can I fine the captain? If so, I fine him for leaving too early :P

A creature made entirely of dust corrupts your wish.

I wish this forum had a wider selection of emoticons.

Super Meat Boy: Have
