(Good idea. I was running out of fancy combat maneuvers anyway
)
Wash made it through three more levels before finally being blown up by a lucky heavy phasor strike. He then went back to the hotel room for some sleep.
The next day arrived, and sharply at 1600 he knocked on Varayis' door.

Well, that wasn't very helpful, thought Wash.
Leave the bomber hidden in the ravine. The Vanguard and I will launch a low-altitude assault, using the terrain to hide us from sensors for as long as possible, swarming the frigate at the last moment. Missiles will be used against shield generators and weapons, and my gatling cannons will target sensor arrays, fuel lines, viewports, anything that might have weaker armor.
The Avenger will ascend to high altitude once the battle is joined, and keep an eye open for further threats.
EDIT: ((Logging off and going to bed for the night))

Check what the database can tell us about Atmospheric Frigates.

Send the Avenger through the ravine at half speed, passive sensors only. Any sign of enemy contact, it is to return and report back.

Does our small fleet have a dedicated scouting class?

Well, there IS one particularly nasty thing to do...
Hover directly over the tanks. The superhot exhaust, if left in place for more than a few seconds, will melt the tanks into useless blobs of metal.

Basically a repeat of last time. Skim the water and open up with the main guns. SAM launchers shouldn't be able to hit such low-flying targets.

Have a missile-armed escort shoot a few at the base of the tower. BEFORE the bomber shows up.
Oh, what happened to the STARHAWKs? Are they still fighting?

Dive the FALCON low to the ground to avoid the AA gunboat. When it gets within range, rise sharply and unleash the miniguns! Just aim for center of mass, the bullets spread so much that accuracy is pretty much moot.
Order the half of the Vanguard I took with me to engage at will.

Agh, I thought that we would be attacked en route!
Order half of the Vanguard to stay near the bomber. The rest form up with me to clear the way!

Pick the FALCON. When mission starts, order the Vanguard to fly in circles around the Eagleclaw as it moves forward. I will match speed with the Eagleclaw and fly above and slightly behind it.

Pick something with high defense and firepower, NOT A BOMBER. Also, loadout.
