General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Not sure if it's 'anime' per-se, but Netflix just did castlevania?
It's about as anime as Avatar (American writer, American producers, American studio), so I suppose we could enjoy that lovely argument about "style" versus "national origin" all over again if we really want.  I would politely wish to head it off by noting that it may not be entirely germane or productive to do so, however, given how rarely it ends well. :P

Still, thanks for the heads-up.  I mean, I don't have Netflix and I never really followed the Castlevania games, but I do like keeping abreast of this sort of stuff in general.  It looks like they already ordered a second season, too. ^_^
Huh, I had no idea the Castlevania TV series was an American production. I even witnessed a brief sub-vs-dub debate regarding it and assumed it was anime.

Oh yes, there were plenty of explanations. Doesn't mean I want to hear horror stories of people dying or watch a car get t-boned by a truck.

3605
Had to do some online training today for work, and every single thing focused on the Heavy Shit.

One film clip after another of traffic accidents involving trucks. Still images of other accidents. Stories of death, including one ever-so-lovely story about a driver in my own company rolling his truck over, getting pinned, and dying as EMTs tried to free him. Followed the whole thing up with a somewhat grim video about sex trafficking.

I need some happy stuff, stat.

I wasn't posting primarily because of the...stuff that happened. Wanted to see if things would recover or not.

Anyhoo, some extra MAG or STR for Gordon might be nice but it isn't needed. Maybe a new staff or something.

All I know is that plenty of people here in the States believe that the world is roughly 6,000 years old and God created it as-is in exactly six normal days.

* Sirus shrugs

Back to the Flat-Earther stuff, I sincerely hope that it's a publicity shock stunt.

Thanks, I was looking for your forgiveness this whole time :3

That said, I'm able to reconcile my religious view on the existence of God with the concept of evolution/general scientific discovery quite easily, and I'm not sure why some of my fellow religionites are not. It's an absurd stigma, but I do find that the same people who are super hardline against evolution are often the same ones who warn me that cell phone signals might cook my brain, so maybe they are just legit nutso.

Yeah, it's like the whole 7 days thing, how long is a day to god? an hour? 24 hours? Month? Year? Eons?
While I myself am not religious, I notice that seems to be open entirely to personal interpretation.

Y'know, sometimes I can almost (ALMOST) forgive a creationist or a moon landing hoaxer for their views. The evidence for those things, while plentiful and simple to understand, is difficult to directly observe for the average person. Evolution works relatively slowly over multiple generations, and obviously we can't just fly every lunatic to the moon and let them see it for themselves. They have to rely more on the observations other people make.

Flat-Eartherism is just plain nuts. Goddammit, humanity. We should have stamped out that particular breed of wrongness centuries ago.

"If you desire it, Captain, I can cast about for any astrographic signals originating from this...I suppose it could be called a "system", though it is like none I can ever recall hearing about."

In truth the astropath didn't expect to find any such transmissions bouncing about, but then he never would have expected to see five large stars in such close proximity (as the infinite void went, anyway) to each other, either. Perhaps some of his kin could be found here.

Men... she thought, somewhat bitterly, but loaded her crossbow in preparation for battle.

Another set of pay increases at work. Small ones, but it'll average out to maybe an extra $20 per week, or $80 a month.
