I love it :D

I don't mind spiders as much as some people, but here in California you get black widows and brown recluses, so it's smart to avoid manhandling strange ones.

I lived in California all my childhood, and I just got used to Black widows hiding in the nooks and crannies.
I don't care how used to them you get, it's still smart to avoid getting bitten :/

I'm gonna guess that herpatologists avoid getting bitten by king cobras and the like.

So apparently phaseblades are a material now (or at least the blue one is). Since I don't have one and the wiki has found itself suddenly and horribly out of date, can anyone tell me what you can make with them?

Guide will tell you, ask him about crafting and drop it in the box.
You need to actually HAVE a phaseblade first, which Urist Imiknorris clearly stated he didn't have.

Awesome indeed.

I used to be a premium player, and had lots of fun. I'm thinking of reactivating my old account and starting some new chars as a free player.

I'm sure those issues will be patched out soon. Remember when Terraria was first released, and bugfixes were being issued every day or so? These guys seem to be pretty proactive in fixing stuff.

Thing is, this problem has been around since a bit past the release of 1.0.6.1, and the devs have never so much as mentioned it, much less fixed it.  :-\
Oh.

I wouldn't know, I never played multiplayer in this game  :(

Yeah, I fear I'm going to be permanently restricted to SP, which sucks, because most of my endgame fun came from tooling around in Kael's server.

I've never encountered it myself but I've never seen it mentioned either. So it probably wasn't reported before and was waved off as a random glitch?
One thing I did note is that all the other cases were on 64bit Windows 7 as well.
...ah DAMMIT. That's my OS. I was looking forward to playing this with a friend.

A goblin just started walking over the roof of the dungeon. Am I under siege?

...Time to make the dwarves proud. *draws sword*
Nah, it's probably just a scout snatcher. Protect the children!

Oh look, a giant bug.
According to some of the comments, that's the average size for one of them things. In other words, there are even LARGER ones.

Sweet dreams!  :D

I've been hit a few times with poison dart traps. Those are a pain.

It also seems that some accessories can be combined. Cloud in a Bottle and Red Balloon combine to make Cloud in a Balloon - an item that combines their individual effects. That should help save on inventory space.

Nexus was one of those games that I felt had all the elements for me to absolutely love it, and then... I didn't like it as much as I wanted to. If I recall correctly, there was barely any time-acceleration, and the early secretive missions put me off a bunch. And then I never really, really saw a difference in targeting the different systems. Sure, there was some, but it either didn't have that big of an impact in the battle, or perhaps it just wasn't conveyed in a way that made it meaningful. But one day there'll be a supremely tactical starship combat game where you tell all turrets where to aim for, with all ship components individually damageable and all that. I'm just... kinda waiting for it :)
You might like Battleships Forever; you can indivually target different ship sections and components. Lots of nice explosions, too.

I just realized, looking at the Settings menu, that I've been running on Color already. It seems I have nothing to worry about.

I can run color, at least a little, and I'm on a laptop with an integrated Intel graphics card. Sure, it's only a month old, but it's hardly a supercomputer. I can't even run Magicka.
