Hmm, I don't think I've ever read sci-fi that emphasized or even mentioned power management. Fuel management, maybe, but not power.

I read sci-fi from all ranges on the spectrum, from super-hard (no faster-than-light capabilities, all physics are accurate) to super-soft (Warhammer 40k) and everything in between. This Nexus game sounds like something I'd enjoy. I better install it :P

Nope, it's F9, according to the patch notes.
Quote from: Steam Update Page
Terraria now has smooth, colored lighting! You can toggle between the four lighting modes: Color, White, Retro, and Trippy in the Options Menu or by pressing F7.
That's what I'm reading. I guess they typoed.

The video kinda reminds me of Star Wars: dog-fighting small craft, and larger ships blasting away with lasers at relatively close range instead of launching missile salvos from several light-seconds away.

I love Star Wars, mind, so this isn't a bad thing. If you don't mind me asking, Girlinhat, what part of Nexus has influenced you?

I assume this is the sequel for "The Jupiter Incident"?

I just got that game, though I haven't installed it yet. Gotta say though, these previews look pretty good. If I were a millionaire, I'd probably shell out for platinum XD

I'm pressing F7, but all that does is bring up some technical-looking data about how the game is running. Isn't that supposed to switch color modes?

Still testing, I noticed that zombies now have at least two sprites: one the old sprite with hair, and a new one that seems to be missing the top of it's head. Since it isn't mentioned in the patch notes I have to wonder what else might have new appearances :D

Started a new character purely for testing purposes, and created a new world.

There's more wildlife (which you can actually kill now), the backgrounds are much better than the old cloudy sky, I'm having no trouble with the new lighting system so far, and I'm already seeing tons of new things to craft just by showing the guide (aka Garrett) wood.

I'm in love, I think.

How do all the star classifications work?
Bam. Long-ass read ahoy.
Oh. My. Gawd. I think I gave up at around the third heading.

In other news, I decided to start another game where I have a better idea of what the heck I am doing. I just have one question:
What the heck am I doing?
You must be specific.

Have you assigned projects to your scientists?
Do you know how to design and build ships?
Are you having difficulty with combat?

Yeah, basically if there aren't minerals for it to pick up, it'll whine at you.

Also, think of inserting a "refuel from colony" order somewhere in your order loop.

Shouldn't be necessary if you always add the 'if fuel < 30% then refuel at colony within 4 jumps' order to the ship or TG.
But if that event is triggered, the other orders are erased and you have to set the TG up again, which can be a pain for freighters on repeating orders. If I have a freighter that is gonna be running back and forth for a long time, I always manually insert at least one refueling order.

Seconded. Having a ship customization and city building system would be the bomb. That way you have a use for those pretty habitable worlds besides just looking pretty. Then again, there shouldn't be anything stopping you from building a colony on a lifeless moon, or something.

WRONG.

Good news: The new scientist has a decent Geology score, so she's joining this game's first geosurvey team.
Bad news: The team is headed by a guy named Billy Nash

Who was it that got Samuel Jackson? I'm hella jealous now :P

I already hate this game. Two of my best scientists are in Biology, and what does my new scientist specialize in?

Take a guess.

I never played Smash TV. Doesn't mean I'm not enjoying this :D

All I meant was that I enjoy Daniel's stuff.

I have mine set to auto-hide, so it doesn't really get in the way.

I just set my bar to the left side of the screen as well...this will take some time to get used to...

ETA: Ok, Resize seems to work. Only problem I've noticed so far is that the event viewer bugs out horribly once it gets updated. Closing and reopening it seems to fix the problem. Good thing I don't really need the buttons on the bottom of that one.
