I've got this game sitting in my hard drive. It's fun, though I've learned that the percentages are filthy LIARS.

"Ha! I've got an 80% chance to hit and the enemy only has 30%. Easy kill!"

*watch helplessly as my unit misses every time while getting massacred by counter-attacks*

Although I somewhat dislike 4chan, you have to admit that they sometimes do good things. There's plenty of stories out there how an Anon saw a bad video online (For example that video of someone throwing cats off a bridge, or something like that.) and did some research and found out who it was and reported them to the police.

Also a few stories of a person who was harassed in RL through 4chan or who got stalked through it as well.
It's almost like 4chan, like the police, is a bunch of individuals with individual goals and morals, rather than a single monolithic entity. Woulda thought?
Can't tell if your a troll, or someone who just read a little bit of the discussion and made a broad conclusion.

I wasn't trolling.

I wasn't joking either.

Either way, the discussion has moved on, so there's no point in re-hashing it.

Shot by the wall-hacking projectiles of a fire imp. My iron armor didn't stand a chance.

I'd be interested in seeing an Oblivion/Fallout type of game using this engine. An entire world open up to exploration, no invisible barriers to stop you from leaving arbitrary borders.

Well, I got a pretty good haul for the Fall Sale:

  • Europa Universalis III
  • Hearts of Iron III
  • Geneforge Saga
  • Nexus: The Jupiter Incident[/i]
    • Serious Sam HD Double Pack

Fun fact: Typing in "Aurora Pentarch" on Google returns this thread as the second result, first result being the wiki :D

another of my ships found the system of Manticore (FUCK YES)
Someone's a Weber fan :D

Actually, his novels are a curious thing for me: I enjoy his writing, but the constant political flanderization gets annoying, as does his overuse of authoritarian theocracies as antagonists. So I tend to just ignore those bits and enjoy the rest. (Actually, now that I think on it, Heinlein was somewhat similar IMO, except with promotion of free-love instead of political propaganda, for the most part, although it was generally much less intrusive.)

So I mostly read his stuff for the battles. Oh, and Hells Gate is just plain awesome, and I can't wait for the third volume, whenever that will finally be finished.
I keep trying to read Hell's Gate. I like the idea, but so far the magic society is getting it's ass kicked, and it doesn't look like they even have a chance; something like 50 casualties to kill 10 people, despite wielding lightning cannons and other awesome stuff. Then a fortress of theirs gets curb-stomped. Still early in the book, but I'm not too fond of this.

I'm in the middle of A Mighty Fortress. Great series.

Read the second volume. Suffice to say, the tides turn. It also gets deeper into the political plotting on both sides. Rumor has it that a third faction with near-modern technology but no magic/psykers is going to be introduced further along.
I didn't even know there was a second volume. That first one is over 1200 pages long, and I'm somewhere in the 400s.

What.
....What? Don't tell me that you don't know a few good porno sites. Everybody who has Internet and is over the age of 11 has a porn site or dozen up their sleeves.
I'm just saying, that's more information to give out than needed.
It's not like he posted links or anything.

But no, I'm not a troll. Perhaps I mis-interpreted some part of the conversation, but I thought that a bunch of people were making generalizations and running with them.

@ Barbarossa TSG: I have this one from Dave1004:

Welcome to America. The land of no rights and the police don't give a f**k about the rules. You piss them off, and they'll get revenge, even if they have to gank you in an alleyway.
