Or is it something more recent?

The hell are those things?  :o

Darvi, I was picking up Lucky Statues and vases by the second dungeon (the first "real" one). Sure, the odds are small, but it's still a lot of loot.

My advice is to ignore slimeballs and the like, and focus on food, equipment, and treasure. In most cases, you will turn a profit (especially if something is in demand).

Too long; read as much as I possibly could  :P

I do like this game though, despite never beating it. I always dive into dungoneering since you can get items for free, rather than paying for them at another store and selling them at yours.

You aren't getting items for free though, that was the point of one of my mini-tirades. It's costing you something more valuable than money: time. It's not something you'd think about in terms of currency, but it's a finite resource that, if squandered, leads to your own defeat. There's also the risk of dying and losing everything, which is not duly compensated IMO.

Thank you for reading as much as you could though.
I did see that part, but I disagreed. Sure, you lose extra time, but coming home with a sack full of 4-or-5-digit treasures more than makes up for it. The risk is just part of the game, both the programmed one and the economic one.

I like to make "lava lamps": glass panels in a box shape at least two blocks high. Apply magma to top section. Enjoy infinite, contained lavafall.

I've gotten too used to using the Philosipher's stone as a crafting table.
I stopped doing that after throwing my 4th stone into lava by mistake.

 >:(
I'm guessing that Philosopher's Stones are difficult to produce?

If I threw a crafting table into lava by accident, I'd shrug and accept the loss of a single block of wood's worth of planks.

Totally watching. I remember playing the crap out of this when I was a kid.

I just realized that I was listening to the "Leekspin" song for over 20 minutes o_o

That "Know Your Meme" site is almost as addicting as TV-Tropes.
Eh, not really. Tvtropes has a lot of random interesting stuff, kym has a lot of random, but mostly stuff that I've seen before or heard of already.
True, but I missed the introduction of lots of memes. I like to see what they were originally referencing and where they came from.

Have you ever hugged an ATS? No? Because maybe they do.
Then why are they shooting rockets from half-way across the world? You can't hug people with missiles!

The difference is that Creepers just want a hug. Antitank soldiers just want to kill you.

Seems the temperature gradients are pretty huge. Moisture levels seem to just do whatever they want in pretty small areas, leading to swamps next to deserts quite frequently, but when an area is cold it stays cold for a large area. Deserts also remain frequent in a large area.
I'm not exactly looking for realistic climate and weather in this game :P

I have. In fact, there was a big tundra near my spawn point on a Creative map.
