Well, which ship would you prefer? Names don't matter so much compared to that  :)

Ok, now I know that the ships looked crappy because you saw them in the ship buying section. Compare the Perekop above with these ones from the in-game database:

You know, those ships looked a lot better when i was looking at them on a DS, here they both look like rusty blocky things.
It's an emulator issue, I think. Either that or it's just the outcome of magnification.

Of course, now I'm messing around with zoom configurations and I can't get it looking the way it used to  :(

On the other hand, the early ships really do look kinda crappy. They're the low-tech scraps of a backwater sector, not much room for aesthetics.

What ship will Yuri start his career with? Will he and Nia be able to save Kira? How much interest will the pawnbroker charge when Yuri returns for the Epitaph?
At least one of these questions will be answered next time on Infinite Space! See you then!

It is pretty safe to assume if your using integrated graphics (such as the Intel chip sets) then you wont be playing much at all...
Screw you, Intel! *shakes fist*
Can you believe that this brand new laptop, with dual-core processors and 4 gigs of memory, can't even run Minecraft on the absolute lowest settings? I get like 15 frames per second, best-case.

My laptop does that too. I actually had to buy a gaming desktop this summer just to be able to play goddamned Minecraft, grah.
I'm gonna have to do that too, eventually. Sadly I spent pretty much every spare cent on this laptop to replace my 5-year-old one...so I'll probably have to wait another five years for a desktop XD

appaerantly I cannot vcolonise callisto because it is unsuitable.
how do I fix this? terraform it?
I'd go for titan, but it has no resources whatsoever.
Unsuitable Colony Cost=too low gravity, which cannot be Terraformed. If the Colony Cost is "Unsuitable", then there's no chance of that body ever being a habitable body for that race.
Not quite true.

With genetic engineering, you could make a new species of human with much greater gravity tolerance. Of course, that's a long an expensive process, and some people say that it's more trouble than it's worth, but it may be a fun project.

I'm guessing that the vanilla thread would be used for constructions, redstone contraptions, weird landscape features, things like that. Sharing maps and seeds might be good as well; Since the Super Hostile maps, for instance, are vanilla Minecraft they could be discussed there (though Simple Alchemy is suggested. Doesn't mean you have to use it  ;) ).

This thread is a bore for anyone who doesn't use IC and/or BC. 80% of the thread for the last 50-100 pages has been nothing but about those mods. I realize its on topic and there is nothing really wrong with it, but...

Actually I was considering bringing something related to this up, so now's the time for it I guess.

Why not split the minecraft thread into modded minecraft, and normal minecraft? People can talk about their mods in the modded thread and people can talk about vanilla in the vanilla minecraft thread.
Good idea. Which thread does this 950 page monstrosity does this one become?  :P

I'm rampaging through an enemy base in a walking tank. I have a minigun on one arm, a hydraulically-powered stabbing knife on the other, with an explosive cannon on the front. Infantry, other walking tanks, flying machines - all fell to my wrath.

Then some gas-mask mook knifes me from behind, exploding the tank and killing me.

Part 3: Stuff Happens!

Welcome back! Last time, we met Yuri, and he met Nia. Yuri fixed Nia's ship, the DAISY, and together they took off into space!
(SPAAAAAACE)
Let's continue...

Next time: Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!

You may notice that in the pictures showing both screens, the images might be mis-alligned. I play with black bars simulating the gap of the DS's hinge, but apparently the screenshot function edits that out. Sorry about that.

Also, I noticed that Captain Badass' portrait is broken. I will fix it.

I meant the conversation as a whole. I understand your statement Duke.

I'm trying to figure out why I've had 2 pages of discussion about a mod with someone who doesn't use mods.
The conversation started because I (erroneously) assumed that the mod was more of a hack than anything else. Now I know better. Still not gonna use it  :)

EE gives you the ability to transmute material up the tier system but that transmutation is extremely expensive, almost prohibitively so to do for any large scale use.
^^^^^
Referring to that.

In any case, I've decided to stop this silly argument and work on my LP instead. If you want to mod in a bunch of stuff, fine. I will play and enjoy vanilla.

40 coal from dirt to diamond.

And you can turn coal into mobius fuel for free in an energy collector, 1 mobius fuel will do 2 diamonds or so.
So how much for an energy collector? Now those 40 pieces of coal become 80 diamonds. Are you still gonna tell me that it's incredibly wasteful to make diamonds?
