I got it even cheaper in the week before the sequel came out  :P

Haven't gotten very far into it, so I didn't recognize the stuff you were talking about.

Sent a single Flagship CnC Dreadnought armed with my best technology against an enemy fleet. It killed 5 enemy dreadnoughts and distracted them long enough for my cloaked biowar cruisers to launch their payload and hit the enemy world with an assimilation plague. A few turns later, their homeworld was mine.
GAME. PLEASE.

Tank game sounds good. I had a similar idea using "realistic" mechs: not the 30 foot tall bipeds that can strafe through city streets, but huge, low-slung, walking weapon platforms. Combat would take place anywhere from point-blank range (to fire line-of-sight weapons) to several kilometers (missiles and built-in artillery). Reconnaissance would be important to provide accurate targeting for your indirect weapons, and there would be plenty of smaller targets to destroy before you face off against an enemy mech.

Basically, walking Bolos.

Sorry to derail your derail, but...

A Harvest Moon-style game as directed by Hideo Kojima.  That's honestly the thing I think I'd most enjoy playing.

If there's not at least one opportunity to sneak into someone else's hen coop at night and steal the ever-loving bejeezus out of their (potentially robotic) livestock, it's just not good enough :I
Sounds awesome (except the robotic part). Perhaps you can seduce the owner of a rival farm, set up infrared cameras and alarms to catch other thieves, hire harvest sprites either to help you or sabotage others.

I was using the engineer's shotgun. Instant kill from close range, and reloads much faster than a rocket launcher or grenade.

Ontopic: Got annihilated by one of Abyss' special moves. He summons a clone of himself which acts indepentently and takes a ton of damage to kill.

An infinite number of jedi wiped out out my army of clones to the last man.

((So, for whatever reason images aren't fully loading. Which is weird, because the image hoster displays them properly :/
I can fix them if people demand it))

Update 2: More Story! Still No Gameplay! Whoooo!

Welcome back to Infinite Space! Last time, we watched as Captain Badass took down a small battlefleet without breaking a sweat, while Nia got shot down by some of the weakest enemies in the game. Moving on!

Spoiler: Lift off! (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: A Mysterious Interlude (click to show/hide)

Ok, I'm calling this update quits for now. With luck, the next update will be shorter and yet contain more progress. There will still be plenty of dialogue, but more shit will blow up. A win-win in my mind!

Oh, and I'm looking for some sort of free image hosting that allows multiple uploads at once. I'm currently using TinyPic, which is a pain in the ass.

DF has a consistent interface; to build something, you generally go to one menu, to give orders to units, another... it's a lot of different things, but once you know the rules, it works. When you're trying to do something and know where to go, all the relevant commands are on the same screen or at most a few keystrokes away.

In Aurora, however, you need at least four different screens open and countless tabs to properly organize a small battle...
Speak for yourself. I still can't figure out the new squad setup/military screen :P

I'm hitting the bed. Just finished the first turn of Pixel Station: Hyperion, my Aurora/X-COM -like scifi pixel game. Hehe. I really fucked my guys over, I know they'll enjoy the dramatic pre-Turn I just posted. :P

I'm glad half of my players are RP GMs; experience makes for FUN times.

Anyway, goodnight all. :) Have fun with Invaders and Swarm :P
Wait, what is this Pixel Station thing? Sounds fun :O

A Dwarf Fortress game that's totally completed and advanced.
Probably the most common request :P

Gauss is a good weapon for dogfighting fighters, despite the low damage. Lots of shots, no reactor to take up space.
