I wonder if there would be enough gravitational difference for there to even be a satellite of a satellite of a satellite. What would a body orbiting a moon be called, anyway?
A noom?

Sadly, I won't be able to join in on the fun after all. I found out earlier this evening that, for whatever reason, my computer can't run Minecraft for more than about 10 minutes without crashing. In browser, download; doesn't matter. It didn't use to be this bad, so I can only conclude that the new version doesn't agree with my system.
Do you have a recent computer and the "Not enough memory" crash? If so just install Java 64bits.
I'm not sure what crash it is. I'll be placing some blocks to make something, and right before the crash I start placing invisible blocks. Other times I'm simply watching the sun rise and Java dies. I don't get any error messages, just something along the lines of "Java has stopped working and needs to close".

I'm running a two-year-old Vista computer with at least 4 gigs of RAM.

Try this. I did, but instead of putting in 2048 I put int 259, seems to work great...
I'll give it a shot later and report back.

Did not know that engineering brigades could do that!
Yeah, but they're insanely slow. I think they're slower than a factory, plus they need huge troop transports to get anywhere. I rarely use them.

..We pull the lever and respawn?
Speaking of, we'll need to design some sort of doomsday lever. Perhaps one that floods every room with lava.

I'll be the guy that is always on break.

Or part of the suicide squad sent in for exploration
If it's anything like my forts, you'd probably be both  :P

I like Paul's idea. Would make it much easier to recover should Earth get wiped out somehow.

My impression is that while civilians do build their own industry, it is for mundane purposes and not capable of using TNEs. After all, it's not like you have to make periodic shipments of clothing or microwave ovens; clearly the populations produce their own goods, just not anything you make use of.

GMT - 8 ._.;

We're gonna have a hard time getting anything coordinated with all of these timezones.
If it still works out, I'd like to be a weaponsmith or miner. Since pretty much everyone want to do those things however, I'd settle for being the food producer (farming, fishing, etc).

Would the goblin team (should there be one) be allowed to destroy dwarven blocks? It's well known that only dwarves can undo dwarven constructions.

Hmm, interesting idea. Some questions:

Would the players have strictly defined roles (like, only the designated carpenter can gather wood), or would everyone be able to do what they want?
Would everyone have to be online at certain times?

I'm sure I have more, but that's all I can think of for now.  :P

Heh, I wondered if I was just seeing things when I had that too.

There are also some interesting results when, after skillful Task Group shifting, you give a Task Group an order to absorb itself or join itself:

"X has an order to absorb itself. While it would be entertaining to watch the attempt, this is not actually possible."

"X has a order to join with itself. While it would be entertaining to watch the attempt, this is not actually possible."
X3

Nice to know that Steve isn't all SEERIUS BIZZNESS and has a sense of humor. Perhaps he's starting to make Aurora for others and not just himself now?
