Civilian. Definitely civilian.Another reason is that cargo bays are frickin MASSIVE, and your commercial shipyards are the easiest to upgrade. You can tack on 10,000 tons of capacity to a commercial shipyard in the time it takes to add maybe 2,000 tons to a military shipyard.
2 reasons why:
It allows you to put civilian engines on them without getting a TON of failure rate.
It allows civilian shipping companies to build them.
Both are VERY important.
You can boss around any ship you build.
Right, thanks. Dunno why I said kg ^^;Terraforming installations (and possibly other things, not sure) take up more than that. My first freighters are alwaysFixed, My first cargo ships are always tiny and require a bazillion loads per facility.25,000 kg25000 ton capacity, and they require about 2 trips for a single terraformer.

Okay, I've given this another chance and am starting fresh. WITHOUT the tutorial because last time I tried it, it was not very helpful at all. So I'm asking you guys what to do, starting from the very beginning: worldgen settings.Er, any chance you could be more specific? What exactly is confusing you?
