Really, this is more of a sad than anything else, but I'm here now, not in the Sad Thread.

Lukas grinned to himself, letting the various conversations flow over him. The way so many different people had congregated around the fountain, you'd think they had been destined to do so!
Hell, he even saw a couple of old schoolmates. They didn't seem to recognize him though...perhaps it was his new robe. Or maybe (his smile grew a bit wider) they were simply having too much fun together. That was more likely.

Lukas Thermopylae sat on the same fountain, though this was pure coincidence and he took no special notice of the slim figure. His attention was taken up solely by the Gates. Not the people moving through them or around them, but the Gates themselves. They were marvelous.
