Star Ruler 2 is a bit like what you're looking for. It is actually impossible to fully develop all of your planets, because worlds with higher tier resources require the combined imports of several lower tier worlds to reach the development level required to exploit those resources. You end up with a handful of valuable, high output metropolis worlds supported by a large number of suppliers, which must be defended lest your centers of power grind to a halt.

Abra is not-crap? That seems to be the most common thing I get in the Wonder Trade, and I basically stopped bothering to raise them when I evolved one into Kadabra and it didn't learn any attack moves for several levels.

favorite manga updated

which manga would that be?

mine got licensed so the group translating it stopped and now it's gonna take years before i get anything new, unless some kind-hearted souls from 4chan pick it up where the last group left off
Yotsubato!

It's adorable slice-of-life that consists almost entirely of good feelings. It just doesn't update nearly often enough :P

I had one hell of a lousy day.

Then I got a notification that my favorite manga updated, and life immediately got better! ^-^

Bootleg apps are everywhere, and to some degree they're kinda hilarious. It's generally agreed that there's templates of some sort floating around that developers slap popular things onto in order to take the money of little kids who just buy it for the (stolen) brand.

On one end you've got basic stuff that's just a knockoff like Classic Marino, but then there's the really fun stuff that makes no sense or crosses unrelated stuff, like Sans Hero Adventure, FNAF dentist games, "Pixelmon GO", and San Andreas Crime Miami. Elementary-school kids eat this kind of stuff up.
Okay speaking of Pokemon (kinda), what is up with the Guzma in your avatar?

So Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack midflight and is in critical condition.

Posted here because though I'm not emptionally invested I dont like people having health problems.

In the end she didn't make it. Not a complete surprise as things were looking grim by what little info was leaked. :(

Waaaait ._.;
It's the 27th here and I just noticed (again) that I'm ahead several hours than anyone else--am I drawing Choice of the Pirate and the Heroes Rise series (All CYOA games) on my time or on Uber Pye's time? x_x
[/firsttimeanxiety]

You go ahead and do your draws when you're ready to do 'em, kapatid.  ;)

Sirus did the draws for the 26th a bit early, and Sappho's draws from the 22nd posted very early in the morning here (about 1:30am, AZ time / GMT -7) even though it was nearly lunch for her in Prague.
Early for you, maybe. It was at least 7am on the 26th before I started drawing :P

Also, everything should be sent out now! Happy Holidays to the lucky winners!

Considering that one blaster bolt was enough to explode C3PO and most people can only take one shot before dying in the originals, the best explanation seems to be that there are different blasters with more killing power, or else they're like phasers and have different power settings. They use a stun setting to capture Leia, so maybe the latter theory is better.

I think Leia's the only person in the original films that gets shot and doesn't die, because it grazed her shoulder.
This part is most definitely true; just like modern guns there are different models of blaster with different specs.

Could be any number of factors for the differences in injuries, up to and including director fiat.

Nah, what the world needs is fewer assholes. Then perhaps a march to hopefully prevent bombing wouldn't be necessary, and folks wouldn't feel the need to hope for misguided individuals to die horribly.

I'm guessing that the knee-shot stormtrooper didn't actually die, he was just incapacitated from a shot to a more vulnerable joint section. Also the chest armor (which I remember is what took the most hits in the human-shield scene) would likely be the most resistant to damage.

He did take a somewhat ridiculous number of shots before he stopped flailing though.

There was a BBC interview with the journo that started it.

I am reasonably sure at some point in the article she stated that she believed that t would be impossible that the combatants would bomb a peaceful march, because this world would mean nothing.

Fakeedit: article, for those interested.

... I see a Darwin Award in her future.
Posthumous, of course.
The whole point of the Darwin Award is that the recipient has removed themselves from the genepool through an act of perceived foolishness and so, the implication goes, has done future generations a service. The vast majority of Darwin Awards are posthumous.
