Did the pirates get a huge buff recently? I swear I've had so many promising games cut short lately by nigh-unstoppable pirate factions. They find ancient and extremely powerful capital ships that outclass anything I can field, they break protection arrangements to murder my people on a whim, and if I try to fight them they simply capture all of my warships and turn them against me. I don't want to turn them off entirely but this is ridiculous.

I double everything except the Twilight Walker with all of my weapons, meaning that I probably shouldn't bother launching attacks unless I can score a kill in one blow. Otherwise I'm just wasting usages.

ETA: And upon checking my stats it seems that I can't actually deal magical damage to any of these guys. So I guess I'm stuck with physical damage after all >_<

Hmm, the SNES had a great library. Shame I never got to play the overwhelming majority of it; we didn't really start buying a lot of games in our house until the N64 days. I think some of my favorites were...

  • Shadowrun
  • Super Mario World
  • All the Donkey Kong Country games (3 slightly less so)
  • Super Mario RPG

"I have a single memory from before Master Meatbag revived me. I was being led to battle as a member of a vast army of beings like me. We were unified in a way I cannot currently comprehend. For reasons unknown to me, meatbags wielding magic were giving us our orders; we did not lead ourselves." Crystals on the construct's body flicker rapidly as it tries in vain to remember more. "I do not know who we were going to fight, or where, or even what we called ourselves if we did so at all. I suspect that whatever caused me to enter stasis damaged my central memory as well. Perhaps it will recover with time, but until then I must rely on meatbag histories."

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere before, but I must ask:

Will there be intelligent aliens to interact with? If so, can they join (or even start in) your crew? That was one of the great parts in FTL, having so many alien races to contend with and how each had their own strengths, weaknesses, and character.

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that at least one of your team is a fan of The Martian :P
