((Worth trying, though. If we don't want to set this dude on fire, reducing the amount of damage he can deal would be an acceptable substitute.))

((We oughta go back to the old stand-by of grease+spark. Might make the rest of the wererat bosses a bit easier to handle.))

((Jeez this guy can take some damage  :o ))

Well heavy ICBMs could fly +11,000km
A similar missile in space would likely have much greater range, since there would be no atmosphere nor substantial gravity to fight against. Effective range would be limited only by how much fuel it has to maneuver with, probably the relative velocities of the target and launcher as well.

I've had a really emotional, long day. But I just got to read this little article.. And it made me happy

I can totally be the spaceship pilot, right?
You could, if I hadn't already called it.

Children of a Dead Earth has been greenlit on steam.

This shit looks unreasonably neat.
Looked plenty realistic up until the combat portion, at which point all the fancy graphs and charts were replaced with point-blank dogfighting, ludicrous numbers of projectiles bouncing everywhere, curving laser beams, and ships randomly spinning off into the void.

Where are the missiles? Why are these hypervelocity projectiles bouncing off of presumably fragile solar cells? Why the heck are the ships flying so close to each other that they can practically high-five?

You can have cinematic space combat. You can have realistic space combat. I don't think the trailer manages to show either of those.

Roguelike Celebration? Featuring Tarn and Zach?!

Well hot damn, I might have to get in on this. The best part is that I don't typically work Saturdays anymore, so I won't have to request time off.

So the PC version comes out tomorrow, right? What time exactly, in PST?

* Descan can't wait for there to be a 501st state. Not a typo.
Aw, that shouldn't be too hard. Canada alone is big enough that it could probably provide another 50 states, easy  :P

what, and "Washington" isn't a stupid name? for a state AND a city? on opposite sides of the country?

* Descan waves tiny Cascadia flag.
No arguments from me there, but that's over and done with. Renaming either would cause more headache than it could possibly be worth.

Today I saw a sign put up by some...I don't know if I can call them secessionists...people who want to form a 51st state right in the heart of California. I hope they fail in their endeavor; partly because of the economic problems that would ensue, partly because of logistic difficulties, partly because it would probably make my job more of a pain...

But mostly because "Jefferson" is a pretty stupid name for a state.

Huh. I never altered the fabric of reality before.

Neat.

Had another bizarre nightmare where Octopus-like creatures were trying to jam their tentacles into the eyes, ears, and noses of sleeping people with the purpose of taking over their brains. It was very creepy especially as I was just standing at a couple's bedside watching it happen for like five minutes.
Thanks for the lovely mental image just before bedtime. Really.
