Mordecai had his essay half-formed in his mind by the time he packed his things. His Arte, while it couldn't be used on others, was extremely effective at healing his own body after all, and Alphinite played a key role in the process. He estimated that he could have the work done well before dinner. Which was good, because he had something important to do tonight...

: "I was planning to go into town this evening, after dinner. Does anyone need me to pick up anything?"

If you're trying to play Survival mode, my advice would be to Not. At least not for your first attempt. Classic mode gives you a bit more leeway as far as hazards are concerned, so you have more time to sort out how things work.

Grind is pretty real in all modes (except possibly Creative), so if that's not your thing I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Missions and NPCs are pretty interchangeable, true, but that's at least partly a consequence of the game's scale. There's simply too much playable real estate to have unique NPCs and quests in specific locations. Either most of the playerbase would never see them, or those locations would be laggy hellholes from everyone trying to get to them and claim chunks of real estate. Thus, you can find the same sorts of quests everywhere.

There is a sort of multiplayer hub that gets instanced, and that location does have unique NPCs and special missions for party play, but it's kinda in its own pocket dimension and separate from the wider universe. When you leave it, you return to whatever point in space you entered from.

I will say that exploring and planet-hopping can be pretty fun on its own merits, especially on those occasions where you find a cool ship or tool to add to your collection. And it is still getting updated; probably the reason for the sales everywhere is the newest expansion, Origins, which came out just last week.

Started playing No Man's Sky recently--
* Sirus ducks thrown tomatoes
No wait, I can explain! It was on sale in the Humble Store and everything I'd heard said it had been improved greatly since launch! Anyway, I'm pretty hooked. Planets are huge and pretty nice to wander around on, and I found a crashed starship that I've been fixing up in between improving my base and gathering resources.

Coincidentally, the game had yet another major update just a couple days ago. It altered planet generation by quite a bit, and added the apparently long-awaited giant sand worms not seen since the pre-launch trailers.

Raajak looked back and forth, unsure of his path. These humans held no power in these lands, and he wouldn't be sorry to see the last of them...on the other hand, the king was acting like a spooked cub and the humans really had been in the right, from what he had witnessed of their actions.

: "I do not understand how they could be tracking us though. Surely we would have seen the sails of another ship if they had been close enough to follow our own. Could they be tracking the amulet or the orb magically, somehow? And if so, is there some way to hide them so we are not being chased across the world?

"Of course, our enemies might guess that we'd come here and send forces anyway, but that's a separate problem."

Guess we're waiting on Chev to decide which supports to take.

Yes I saw the picture, though I didn't notice the boom mic. I'd still want some audio (or better yet, video) of the incident however, as this could just be some still image taken out of context. Or a statement from the guy in the picture, or the boom mic operator, or something. Something other than a story being sold in a book written by a known fibber.

So this purportedly is the video in question.

: "But...but...oh, fine. Get a girl all excited for nothing..." Jazz reluctantly put her tools back in their various pockets.

: "I'm in. Tell us more about this 'collaboration' you want us to do."

This is ... I have no words

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/09/05/politics/michael-cohen-book-trump-white-house/index.html

Quote
Trump's disdain for Obama was so extreme that he took his fixation a step further, according to Cohen: Trump hired a "Faux-Bama" to participate in a video in which Trump "ritualistically belittled the first black president and then fired him."
While it wouldn't be at all out of character for Trump, let's bear in mind that the guy telling this story has committed several felonies himself and has told any number of lies. He may just be telling some outrageous story in order to make Trump look worse, not to mention keeping himself in the limelight and making heaps of cash.

Jasmine's eyes lit up, almost literally.

: "Well I'll be, it really can record voices! Can I open it up and see how it works? Please?" She already had some tools in hand. Just in case.

628
Jasmine pressed forward through the group, wanting to get a good look at the device. Could it actually do what Lev claimed?

: "It could have been whoever the first person was. The one who called the bearded guy Salaam. Or maybe not."

I have no idea, but damn I kind of want to watch that trailer myself :(
