: "That makes a certain amount of sense. Well, I am glad to see that everyone is okay. We had started to get worried after we finished dealing with the bandits and found the village completely empty."

This Boatmurdered?

I never posted in that thread, but I watched quite a bit of it. Part of why I tried DnD on the forum, actually. Although sadly all games I've been in have died shortly after beginning.
My second campaign on here is going, but slowly due to how shitty my hours are. I've been getting yelled at by one player to step down as DM, but that's impossible since everything is in my head and not written down.
Who the fuck.
I'm not able to disclose that without sending hate towards that player's way
Kinda the point.

Oh well, I'll respect your integrity.

I was just making a referential joke in response to what I thought was a reference.
Sorry :<

((Yeah, uh. We just barely fought off a smaller snake without horrible agonizing death. Do we really want to take this one on?))

6306
Have you tried making spaghetti for people before fighting them?

Amberly felt as though she had jumped at least five feet in the air when the older woman had popped out.

: "Revered Abbess! I am glad to see you're okay...but why was the barrier up? What happened to the people of the village?"

On a final note, I had never been so eager to leave a doctor's office before. I was half-afraid that the dude would continue to talk my ear off about ancient aliens, and I only got away when I pretended that I was worried about getting to a pharmacy before it closed.

Hence "somewhat". The city may not be a Mirror's Edge-styled dystopia of shiny skyscrapers, but it is a somewhat dreary one once you start taking a close look at things. Whether it is that way due to the influence of the youma or something else entirely is up the the GM.

Also take note, Twinwolf hasn't explicitly confirmed or denied very many of our suggestions (other than a few outright vetos), so the exact level of charmlessness is up in the air at the moment.

: "I only heard her voice, but it certainly sounded like her. And that was only a few days ago, so...I don't know. I can't think of anything that would cause them to lock up like this, unless they did it to keep those bandits away."

6311
Roleplaying within a roleplaying game?
Yes, why not.

Further suggestions:
>There is a school for students with severe physical disabilities nearby the city.  The city, consequently, is extremely handicap-acessible.
Imma vote against this. Way too obvious a reference and not really fitting in with the somewhat sterile and charmless city described in the handbook.

Amberly frowned thoughtfully at Fer's question.

: "I don't know of a way, but the Revered Abbess or some of the senior sisters might. It wouldn't be anything obvious, otherwise it would be rather useless as a defense."

That's a pretty big "if".

Okay, so it's not entirely outside the realms of possibility that our ancestors were seeded here by aliens. The problem is that there's not much in the way of evidence for that hypothesis, while the fossil record paints a pretty good picture of our development over the eons.

Today I discovered that one of the doctors at the local urgent care clinic is, well...

He's a bit of a kook. He asked me what book I was reading (Ciaphas Cain: HERO OF THE IMPERIUM, for those curious), and when I explained that it was sci-fi he recommended that I check out the Ancient Aliens program on the "History" channel. I thought he was recommending some science fiction of his own, but he, in all apparent seriousness, informed me that the show had several PhDs on it (so they must be telling the truth) and described how modern humans are alien hybrids.

I'm going to be as charitable as possible and assume that he's competent enough in his own field and that his "theories" are relatively harmless nuttiness.

Amberly walked ahead of the group, frowning slightly. Where was the doorman? Or the abbess? The place was a little too quiet, even for a building where many had taken vows of silence.

: "Hello? Where is everyone?"
