General Discussion / Re: [Poi~] Poi is once again permitted (Happy thread)

Ordinary drinking stuff, most assuredly, but IIRC the event in question took place at a wedding or some other celebration. Folks like to get drunk at such events, so I'm guessing the wine either wasn't watered down or was not watered down very much.

Buncha Christians talk about teetotalism but Jesus didn't turn water into grape juice folks.
Couldn't one argue that it'd actually be more miraculous to turn water into grape juice? I mean, if I remember correctly grape juice didn't really exist until pasteurization and modern refrigeration made it possible to mash up grapes without them starting to ferment almost instantly. Jesus creating something that wouldn't exist for nearly two thousand years would be quite remarkable.

Of course, that's not what happened in the story assuming the event took place at all. Hell, the other guests praised how good his wine was.

There was this series of survival games, probably back in the late 90s or early 00s, on the PC. You had to manage a tribe of primitive humans and uncover secrets on various tropical islands. I remember that the game kept track of time while you were gone, sort of like a modern idle game, so if you left for a few days without making sure the tribe was getting along well you might come back to find half of them starved to death.

Graphics were pretty simple, the game area was basically a big bitmap while the people were various sprites mashed together to give each one a somewhat unique appearance.

Trains are big, heavy, can't maneuver, and are notoriously hard to stop. As far as suicide methods go it's probably fairly reliable assuming no one stops you or forces you out of the way.

Of course, you ruin everyone else's day by doing that, but I'm pretty sure anyone that would put themselves in front of a train just doesn't care about such things.

(this is a rather morbid topic)

Well, the game is letting me look around at least for this turn. Maybe I could have held off on sending things after all. Oh well.

That Nazca attack was me trying, in a last-ditch desperation attempt, to send my few remaining troops to try and retake the capitol. It might have worked, or at least gone a bit better, if my commander hadn't been diseased and on his last hit point. He survived the battle, and the troops began breaking down the wall, but then he died and so any storming would have been impossible even if the walls had been breached. I was gonna rename him and everything :P

Hold position.

877
So this is likely to be my last turn. Frankly I'm amazed that I lasted even this long.

Will I get a chance to distribute my remaining gems and items after defeat, or should I go ahead and do that now?

878
Ah, dammit. That explains that. Should have tried crafting some sort of fire protection item but I was, understandably enough, more than a little panicked :P

879
Yeah, I don't know why I kept the rings on the force I sent out to try and drive you away. Merry early Christmas, I guess.

I'm not sure why Huehueteotl couldn't wake up in the final battle. I mean, he was a rock. He can't attack in melee, and from the description only attacking and spellcasting generate fatigue. Yet once Marignon troops closed in he was just stuck around 200 fatigue for the rest of the battle.

Have you seen the Pokemon from Kalos? They have twin swords. Twin. Swords.

I almost want the turn to be run so I can just get wiped out. The waiting is killing me :P

Not fair to Phaecia though, I know.

"Takes more than that ta lay me low. Don't none of ye fret."

(5,30), Tiena and Guard Kaarina.

D-11, zap the door using the nearly-broken Sacred Fire!

I'm trying to figure out if you ever get more than three party members in it. I assume you do, based on the repeated talk about it being an XCOM-like, but the trailer basically just shows three.

It does look extremely interesting, though.
