I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles lately, and I'm finding it quite enjoyable. It keeps surprising me, mostly in good ways, and most of the bad ways are the result of feeling gutpunched by the events in-game rather than me hating how the game or plot works. It looks and sounds really good for a handheld title and while the controls are slightly clunky I've never felt cheated out of victory by them. My losses are my own fault (so far).

I grew up driving manual transmission cars, and when my old car (seriously old, older than me) gave up the ghost I was reluctant to get an automatic. So of course the best car I could find for the greatest value had to be an automatic :P

My WTF: Larger than average number of idiots on the road tonight. More than a dozen cars that seemed to think that they needed to have their high beams on, and near the end of my trip a couple of cars roared past that I assume were racing; both going way way waaay too fast for the flow of traffic, weaving in and out of four busy lanes, and nearly causing at least two collisions in the short time they were in view.

Elodie takes off after the masked man.

I am still looking forward to some training ship combat. Caellath, could you get the map and stuff ready soon so that we could start and get more prepared should ship combat happen this or next session in Wrex's campaign? Even if simplified, without much story to it, or something. Just to get the hang of it.
+1. I'm sure we'll hit ship combat eventually and the practice will help.

She's speaking normally, since Tarkhal seems to be speaking normally. Also I'm not sure if anyone else went out to the land speeder since they're still talking about the orb.

: "It wasn't a competition..." Keyleth tried to say, but once again it was too late. And as the sound of bickering reached her, she contemplated simply flying away to let these crazy people get themselves killed.

Elodie had been about to take off after the masked person when the other acolytes reappeared. Not exactly pleased with the way they had forgone telling her anything, she gave them a brief capsule summery: "This is Volc, works for the Inquisitor apparently. Masked person in the crowd of servants, going to go after him or her on foot. You want to help, be my eyes from above."

Happy Womb Exodus day, KoSS.

What edition, Sirus?
Call it 3.5. I'm guessing it's what Flying Dice was working off of, and it's the only edition I have easy access to monster stats for anyway.

@Flying Dice: See, this is why I ask the experts :P
I was knocking an idea around in my head for a one-shot "campaign" in which a Big Bad monster is approaching a city and the only available defenders are fairly low-leveled. My hope was that the verdict would be "doable, but difficult and at the cost of many characters' lives". I went with the tarrasque because I was under the impression that it was a potentially world-ending beastie.

So if the tarrasque can be so easily brought down, what might be a better candidate?

If Highwayman is somehow still alive, go to H-12 and attack before cantoing to I-15. If he's dead, just move to I-15.

So a question for you fine folks: Would it be theoretically possible for any number of low-level D&D characters (say, each level 4) to eventually triumph over some of the nastier monsters? Things like the tarrasque or great wyrms. My understanding is that such creatures are usually battled by groups of high-level, specially-kitted adventurers. I want to know if zerg rushing could ever succeed.

Did you see that? Somebody in that mob of servants, but they definitely weren't a servant. Had a mask on. What's going on inside?

Volc's had seen some weird things in the Guard, and it seemed like this was going to be another one of those days. He almost considered not telling Elodie about the masked figure, but did so anyway.
"Are you sure it wasn't a servant?" Elodie asked sharply. "Which way did he go?"

I read a headline about a student getting in trouble for doing PHP. I spent entirely too long wondering how they got in trouble for using a programming language.
I shall second that.  What was it actually?
Wild guess: PCP

In Rogue Trader, having Unnatural Senses simply gives you a bonus on relevant Awareness tests. I assume it works the same way here.
