You're losing to Mira? He doesn't even seem to do anything much of the time.

So how do people tend to build their characters? Do you guys focus on maxing out a single stat, or do you try to keep things fairly balanced as you gain attribute points?

First off, I already have Weapon Training (Chain) :P

Secondly, I used the roll that the character builder gave me: Trust in Your Fear. It increases Perception by 5 but gains the Phobia mental disorder. I don't know if I choose the phobia or if the GM rolls dice for it or what.

Had a perfectly good run as Eve ruined by sheer dumb luck. I had a poisonous Brimstone (green lasers ftw), Dark Bum, Bob's Explosive Brain, Crack the Sky, plenty of soul hearts with a single red heart as backup in order to keep Whore of Babylon active full-time, and miscellaneous other goodies. I could one-shot most any enemy and even bosses fell quickly.

And then I stepped into a room that had 6 dots on the floor, arranged like the face of a die. When that happened, my entire loadout changed. The deathlaser was replaced by shielded bouncing tears that I believe were supposed to pierce (but bounced instead), and the Dark Bum vanished in favor of four familiars, only one of which had a ranged attack. Crack the Sky was replaced by the Dead Sea Scrolls (only half-charge, so useless against Mom). My attack bird was gone, Whore of Babylon was gone, and when I died I came back to life as ??? despite not having it unlocked! Argh! I really thought I could win this one!

Oh? Good to know. Guess I can put that xp to something more useful. I'm already planning to get Leap Up at some point, but is there anything you'd recommend instead?

...what 5 points? That 25 is the base stat for point-buy, I didn't put any points in there.

Alright, guess I'll go ahead and get some of that Guard Flak. Better protection all around!

Think I'll also go with the sniper rifle. The lack of Felling is a pity, but it does have longer range and higher armor penetration, plus specialty ammo.

Is there any chance I could start with some sort of rifle using that rather poor Influence? I wouldn't mind having something with decent range, maybe a marksman's rifle.
