I've tried putting nest boxes in the cave, but they don't seem to be breeding very fast, if at all.

That does look good.  Especially for transfer of materials between quarantined burrows (channels instead of stairways, build a grate over one to allow access).  Has Toady fixed the bug where things would sometimes disappear when pushed by flow?

Nope. That was happening to me a couple of days ago (in version 0.1).

I just started a 2x2 embark, and imagine my joy when I discovered that in the corner is a cave containing over 200 kobolds :D

What do I do with them?

I think if tiles fall a long way they sometimes change into other materials.

...or you could just duplicate random raws and see what happens.

The seed doesn't contain worldgen settings. It would need to be a lot longer if it did.
I did say "together with", not "instead of" worldgen settings. Your contribution to Kobold "Liaisonship" is appreciated.

Excellent. I've smoothed and engraved their entire cave too, if that helps.

Lol@another guy thinking towns is a ripoff of DF.

I think it looks very similar, but by now it seems that 'build a settlement' is an entire genre rather than a series of individual rip-offs (just like how Minecraft is now a genre too).

I do know the game will never finish (I mean, his vision is to make a fantasy simulation that is as realistic, physically, as possible). Well as PCs get stronger, he will keep adding more details (eventually, pimples will be added). However, it is current state, DF is no where near what it is supposed to be, and that's fine. However, it is the whole idea that it is only one man and that it is technically more of a hobby than an actual full project (at least that's what I got from reading that FAQ post). I do want to give money since the game is awesome and without DF, there would have been no Minecraft, no Terraria and no KAG (calling the group MTK from now on), but I also want to see the game be done-ish in a soon-ish kind of way since MTK do not do enough justice to DF (they kind of each just took one part of DF and made a game from it).


I think the game that I've spent more money on is League of Legends.
